About Project / Team: (if any) We are a dynamic team of SREs dedicated to maintaining and improving our infrastructure. We are looking to expand our team with a skilled PostgreSQL DBA who can help us build and deploy images, configure, and set up databases, and write infrastructure code to enhance our capabilities. Responsibilities: Design, implement, and manage PostgreSQL databases. Build and deploy database images using containerization technologies (e.g., Docker). Perform database configuration, setup, and maintenance. Develop and maintain infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Monitor database performance, implement changes, and apply new patches and versions when required. Collaborate with SREs to ensure database reliability, availability, and performance. Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues. Implement and manage database backup, recovery, and security strategies. Provide support for database-related incidents and requests. Required Qualifications: Proven experience as a PostgreSQL DBA or similar role. Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL database architecture, replication, and clustering. Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). Proficiency in writing infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or similar. Experience with scripting language such as Python, PowerShell, etc. Knowledge of Azure cloud platforms Familiarity with database monitoring tools and performance tuning. Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure. Strong communication and collaboration skills. Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Preferred Qualifications: (if any) Certification in PostgreSQL or related technologies. Compensation / Salary Range: The typical pay for this role across the U.S. is: $70,000- $100,000 per year. Factors that may affect pay within or outside of this range may include but not limited to geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
