Job Description : Brooksource is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Lead Data Center Technician to join our team in Kent, WA. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for maintaining, deploying, and decommissioning hardware in a high-availability data center environment. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in data center operations, strong customer service skills, and the ability to handle on-call responsibilities as needed. Key Responsibilities : Data Center Operations : Provide operational support for the day-to-day running of the data center, including hardware installations, deployments, cabling, and decommissioning. Ticket Management : Complete assigned tickets efficiently and accurately. This includes troubleshooting and resolving issues, logging incidents, and documenting solutions. Customer Service Excellence : Maintain professional and effective communication with clients and team members, ensuring customer needs and expectations are met in a timely manner. Deployment & Decommissioning : Assist in the deployment of new hardware, including servers and storage devices, as well as the decommissioning of outdated equipment. Cabling : Manage and assist with the proper cabling of data center hardware, ensuring all connections are secure and well-organized. Collaboration & Meetings : Actively participate in team meetings, providing updates on work status, identifying potential improvements, and collaborating with other technicians and stakeholders. On-Call Support : Be available for on-call support after regular business hours to address urgent issues, outages, or escalations as needed. Qualifications : At least 3 years of experience in a data center or IT infrastructure environment. Proven ability to manage and resolve technical issues efficiently. Strong customer service skills with a focus on professional communication and problem-solving. Familiarity with server hardware , storage systems, and network cabling. Ability to work independently and take ownership of tasks while also being a collaborative team member. Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment , handling multiple priorities and maintaining high-quality standards. Availability to be on-call as part of the team rotation. Preferred Skills : Experience with hardware deployment, including rack & stack, cabling, and troubleshooting. Knowledge of server and storage systems . Prior experience with decommissioning equipment and systems. Strong troubleshooting skills and an understanding of data center best practices. Previous work experience as a lead or supervisor in the industry Physical Requirements : Ability to lift and move equipment (up to 50 lbs) as needed. Ability to work on your feet for extended periods.
