3d Grading Civil Engineer

MUST HAVE'S: 100% onsite in Simi Valley Must pass Drug and Background for compliance. They have government clients and have strict rules for drug. Bachelor’s Degree 2-3 years of experience; ideally someone seeking their 2nd or 3rd job out of college Must have Experience in software with 3d grading and drainage design on industrial projects (fill sites, ponds, access roads, well pads, etc.) using AutoCAD Civil 3D. Must have grading and design, fill sites or hydrology Some of the 3d grading Software to look at: LID design, Hydraflow, HydoCAD, StormCAD, WMSS. Other important qualifications: Ideally an EIT cert with PE license exams in the works. Doesn't need a PE though Job Description: We are seeking a self-motivated and energetic applicant to apply for a Civil Design Engineer position in Southern California (Simi Valley). The applicant will join the engineering team responsible for designing industrial site development, pipeline improvement, renewable energy systems, and oil and gas facility projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Civil Engineering and experience in the design and construction of civil engineering projects with a strong working knowledge in Civil 3D grading and drainage design. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively and be able to communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities: Assists with the design and construction of civil engineering projects such as facility site development, drainage improvements, roads, accessways, and structural foundations. Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects. Ability to manage, import, and create 3D surfaces from ariel and topographic site survey data in Autocad Civil 3D. Project planning and design with an emphasis in hydraulic and hydrology design. Preparation engineering drawings, reports, proposals, and other written assignments. Compute engineering calculations such as surcharge load and grade requirements, hydrology flow parameters, and pipeline hydraulics, to determine design specifications. Assist with construction and maintenance activities at the project site. Manage relatively small projects. Assist Senior Project Engineers, Project Managers, and Principals in the delivery of larger projects. Prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, environmental and building permit applications, construction schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for project. Direct draftspersons and technicians to convert designs to working drawings. Requirements Desire and ability to learn new skills and work on multidispline design projects. Strong working knowledge of and proficency in CAD design tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D) General knowledge of the use of earthwork design, site drainage, and grading site development. Ability to visit local project sites for data gathering and construction support with occasional travel to client facilities. Experience and Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in Civil Engineering 3-7 years related experience EIT certification is desired with goal to sit for the California PE exam.
