Construction Estimator

Job Title: Building Estimator: Commercial Location: Fort Myers, Florida Job Description: A leading commercial construction company in Fort Myers, Florida, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Building Estimator to join our team. The Building Estimator will play a critical role in the pre-construction phase by preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of construction projects. Key Responsibilities: Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to gather necessary information for accurate estimates. Identify and evaluate potential risks, challenges, and opportunities associated with project costs. Prepare and present cost breakdowns, budgets, and bid proposals to clients and internal teams. Source and negotiate pricing with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure competitive and accurate estimates. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction materials, labor costs, and market trends in the Fort Myers area. Review and adjust estimates based on project changes, scope modifications, or unforeseen conditions. Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Ensure compliance with local building codes, regulations, and company standards. Maintain organized records of all estimates, bids, and related documentation. Qualifications: Proven experience as a Building Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost estimation techniques. Proficiency in estimation software and tools (e.g., ProEst, PlanSwift, or similar). Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail. Strong communication and negotiation skills to effectively interact with clients, subcontractors, and team members. Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and industry standards in Florida.
