Mechanical/HVAC Engineer - Johnstown, PA A nationally recognized engineering and design firm with over 75 years of experience is seeking a Mechanical/HVAC Engineer to join its growing team in Johnstown, PA. This multidisciplinary organization specializes in mechanical/HVAC, electrical, plumbing/fire protection, civil, and structural services, emphasizing professional growth, quality service, teamwork, and collaboration. Position Overview: As a Mechanical/HVAC Engineer, you will be responsible for various tasks related to mechanical/HVAC system design, including engineering calculations, equipment selection, and ductwork/piping layout and sizing. Under the supervision of a Professional Engineer, you will contribute to projects and gain valuable experience as you work toward obtaining your PE license. Key Responsibilities: Design mechanical/HVAC systems for commercial and institutional facilities. Select equipment such as fans, air handling units, heat exchangers, and chillers. Perform ductwork and piping sizing and layout. Conduct load calculations using software such as Trane Trace. Perform energy modeling to optimize system performance. Visit project sites to survey and document existing conditions. Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams to ensure design accuracy. Communicate with clients, vendors, and contractors on a limited basis. Handle additional responsibilities as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with a mechanical concentration. FE/E.I.T. Certification is strongly preferred. Proficiency in AutoCAD/Revit software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to prioritize multiple projects, meet deadlines, and provide excellent client service. Occasional travel to project sites may be required. Ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
