The Account Executive (Lead Project Manager) has overall responsibility for the successful execution of assigned accounts. This manager will typically be assigned larger, more complex, customer accounts, as well as multiple accounts requiring junior level project management associates in support of successful execution. Responsibilities include customer coordination of design definition, value engineering, internal communication and coordination of manufacturing, delivery, installation and continued on-going customer service. The Account Executive will provide the leadership/coordination and staff management of all activities related to assigned projects while exercising every viable opportunity to procure additional business from assigned accounts.

Travel:

up to 20%, remote and traveling. Can live anywhere in the United States.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Grow customer account value through strategic business planning and interface with management and sales as defined in the SAA.

Acquire new account growth through excellent customer service and account execution.

Define, build and train for staff excellence in the account team.

Procure complete definition for each project and clearly define the customer’s expectations to the support team at the division.

Review strategic Value Engineering opportunities with customer(s) for mutually beneficial cost savings.

Ensure products are engineered to customer specification.

Develop or manage the development of a project timeline for every project. Coordinate with Master Scheduler to develop “project launch cycle” and monitor progress and develop corrective actions where needed.

Coordinate with Purchasing Department to ensure on time/on budget material procurement.

Participate in prototype development and review process.

Monitor production of product through both physical review of work in process and through review of labor and costing report data. Aid in development of corrective actions where needed.

Lead Gross Margin Improvement Initiative for related projects to drive cost savings, price increases, and value engineering.

Provide shipping instructions including verification of site off-load conditions where applicable.

Facilitate and assist in the completion of customer inventory reports and their review.

Monitor and manage customer inventory attempting to reduce risk of obsolescence.

As production capacity requires, facilitate outsourcing of production and services.

Provide technical backup to Sales and Estimating as required.

Visit manufacturing locations to review new products before primary manufacturing and shipments begin.

Provide monthly Sales Forecast for assigned customer(s), with assistance from Sales where applicable.

Perform post mortems on successful and unsuccessful projects to determine root cause issues and opportunities for future improvement.

Manage cost of quality impact and establish root cause for future COQ reduction.

Qualifications

15+ years' experience of Account Management in wood and/or metal manufacturing, consumer environments industry (retail store fixture) preferred.

10+ years' experience leading, managing and motivating a project management team within a large manufacturing company.

Must have a proven ability to create and maintain spreadsheets utilizing MS Office Programs such as Word and Excel.

An understanding of ERP fundamentals.

Architectural/Interior Design technical knowledge expertise.

Must be able to work independently while multi-tasking.

Ability to express oneself professionally utilizing both verbal and written communications.

Organizational skills and a team player mentality is critical.

Proven ability to lead large sized programs from concept through to completion.

Proven ability to lead and successfully manage programs across various geographic areas.

Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate various project management team members, including project coordinators and project managers, in order to fulfill customer demands effectively and to the highest quality.

Proven ability to support a team environment with an open communication culture.

Experience setting clear team goals that result in meeting all account deadlines and exceeding customer expectations.

Proven ability to monitor team performance and provide coaching and review as needed.

Proven ability to discover training needs and provide coaching in order to develop team members.

Compensation & Benefit Information: Salary Range: $90,000-120,000 annually. Pay based on location and cost of living.

Bonus/Incentive Pay: A discretionary annual bonus based on Company and business unit performance may also be provided.
