Yusen Terminals LLC (“YTI”, based in Terminal Island (Los Angeles), CA, is wholly owned by Ocean Network Express (ONE), with office headquarters in Singapore.
YTI operates a state-of-the-art marine container terminal in the Port of Los Angeles. YTI was established in 1991 at the Port’s Berths 212-218. The services we provide are stevedoring and terminal operations for The Alliance (ONE, Hapag Lloyd, HMM and Yang Ming) as well as slot chartering from Evergreen, CMA-CGM, APL, COSCO and OOCL. As a full-service marine terminal, YTI provides modern technology, equipment, on-dock rail, storage facilities and Alternative Maritime Power (AMP). YTI’s highly experienced management team are devoted to efficient cargo handling with a focus on service delivery and customer satisfaction. We currently operate eleven Post Panamax Gantry cranes including six, state-of-the-art Super Post Panamax Gantry cranes. YTI is focused on giving all our customers a reliable “Best-in-Class” service delivery as well as a complete suite of marine terminal services to the shipping and transportation community.

is the place for you! Overview: We are looking for a self-starter with great Leadership ability as the
Chief Financial Officer.
Reporting to the President & Chief Executive Officer, the
Chief Financial Officer , as a member of the senior leadership team, serves as a knowledgeable and trusted resource to the CEO and other senior leaders. This position is a hands-on, quality focused financial executive with experience in business analysis, systems and process evaluation, and development and implementation. The CFO is in regular contact with the Board of Directors, Banks and Attorneys, company auditors, local fiscal and port authorities, insurance companies as well as customers and suppliers. What you will do: The CFO will lead the Nashville team and Corporate finance functions: Will oversee the General Manager, Finance and Accounting and 13 employees indirectly. In addition, the CFO will also lead a Director of Finance located in Los Angeles. Ensure that activities at the terminal are aligned with the overall strategy defined by the CEO, while simultaneously being aligned with the Board of Directors to yield the best possible financial returns for YTI. Establish and enforce procedures to improve working routines, provide high quality and valuable information and analysis to aid decision making, achieve efficiencies in terms of costs and ensure that all subjects relating to the financials of the terminal are dealt with in the most efficient manner. Responsible for a world class, timely presentation of financial results and budgets to the CEO and to the Board of Directors, as well as the preparation of financial materials for all Board meetings. In association with Corporate Risk, monitors the company's risk strategies and initiatives through insurance, hedging or any other risk potential mitigating actions. Leads the finance and accounting team, in growing a culture where people consider finance as a beacon to assure that the business is on course to reach the company's goal, promoting proactive identification of areas for improvement and developing initiatives that add value to the terminal. Effectively communicates the company's performance to the CEO and board of directors, showing a thorough understanding of how the different KPIs in the terminal business are driving the financial performance, while highlighting those areas where room for improvement can be identified in order to aid in the decision-making process. Has in-depth knowledge of the budget and reporting process, mastering all figures, including proper and timely planning and reforecasting. Puts in place necessary systems and procedures to ensure timely and correct invoicing, collection, and payment of suppliers. Access to, understanding and implementation of latest accounting practices and legal requirements. Corporate Governance/Board Meetings
Lead the preparation of Board Meetings. Close collaboration with CEO in preparing and distributing board materials. Ability to present and discuss all financial and legal matters at board meetings. Contribute within the management team to propose strategic initiatives that will prepare the terminal for the future. Responsible for taking Board of Director meeting minutes and distributing for approval as per established timelines.
Be a champion of safety and help drive a safety-oriented culture within our company. Frequent travel to Nashville office and internationally as needed. Perform other related duties as assigned by the CEO. What you will bring: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; MBA preferred. 10+ years’ management experience in logistics or maritime industry preferred; manufacturing or distribution background is welcomed. 8+ years of progressively responsible experience for a mid to large size high growth company or division of a large corporation as a senior VP of Finance or CFO/COO role in a high-regulated industry. 5+ years’ experience in executive leadership positions. Manage the accounting team with a hands-on approach; Recruit, motivate, and mentor a team that will scale with the organization. Mature, seasoned, and proactive leader with demonstrated excellence in managing finance, accounting, budgeting controls, analysis and reporting with values of integrity and transparency. Extensive knowledge of setting budgets, reporting, inventory control systems and accounting. Strategic mindset, ability to drive strategic initiatives. Able to provide vision and empowers others to take action by effectively delegating. Able to provide leadership and obtain cooperation and assistance from staff to meet objectives. Ensure that the effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting. History of developing and implementing accounting policies, procedures, controls, and financial reporting requirements. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Proven ability to lead in a fast-paced environment and work collaboratively with all functional support areas such as Operations, Safety, HR, Labor Relations, M&R, Commercial/Business Strategy.
