Michael Page is seeking a Remote Director of Project Development (Wind) for an emerging renewable energy IPP focused on wind, solar, and storage projects. The role involves managing a large-scale development portfolio, leading project advancement from early to late stages, overseeing budgets and schedules, and guiding a team of project developers. Candidates should have 8-10 years of project development experience, particularly in wind, and a strong understanding of the full project lifecycle. Travel to the Minneapolis office and project sites is required.

Strong financial backing by a leading investment shop - willing to invest in necessary resources, plus leverage key relationships for strategic buyers of power. Current pipeline is in excess of 5GW of large-scale projects across WECC, SPP, NY-ISO, PJM, & ERCOT.

Job Description

The Renewables - Director of Project Development (Wind) - Remote will: Responsible for concurrent advancement of full utility scale Development portfolio. Direct development efforts of Wind/Solar projects across all development pillars bringing portfolio from early to late-stage. Responsible for management and maintenance of development budgets and task schedules for development portfolio. Manage team of Sr./Jr.-level Project Developers and cross-functional teams assigned to portfolio wind projects to drive project advancement, providing direction to Project Developer positions, and managing outside contractor deliverables. Able to critically prospect, adequately screen, and evaluate viability of new project opportunities. Provide guidance and effectively collaborate with Business Development team in off-take/PPA efforts. Active participation in M&A negotiation, diligence and project investment activities. Ability to effectively present project plans and progress updates to management team and project partners. Support SVP in portfolio management and business planning, including but not limited to reporting status of project milestones and progress towards quarterly/annual KPIs. Travel required to the Minneapolis office and to projects as needed.

The Successful Applicant

The successful candidate will have: 8-10 years of Project Development experience - with at least 5 years of that in Wind. Exposure to the full project lifecycle - doesn't have to have been one project from inception through to COD. Greenfield, Siting, Permitting, Interconnection, Pricing, to NTP, through FID, through construction to COD. The role will require detailed working knowledge of all development disciplines and success strategies. Key areas of established working experience are: Preliminary project screening and diligence. Project economics and financial modeling. Knowledge and management of utility-scale/transmission-level interconnections. Full life-cycle development planning and execution, including detailed project schedules. Skilled at project management, understanding of project design and layouts. Development and successful execution of environmental diligence and mitigation strategies. Extensive experience with local, state and national permitting.
