CCI is searching for a qualified structural engineer to assist project managers with all facets of structural design elements on various infrastructure projects in the southeast. The structural engineer will analyze project goals, design structural elements, perform field visits, make safety recommendations. We're looking for a detail-oriented problem-solver committed to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects built with the greatest standard of safety in mind.

Objectives of this role
- Apply technical knowledge to meet client expectations
- Ensure that each completed project meets local codes, regulations, and quality standards
- Deliver structurally sound designs on various infrastructure projects
- Set structural design protocols according to relevant codes and standards
- Advise civil engineers on best practices in building design
- Analyze project goals and perform structural calculations to support project objectives
- Design structural elements of each project for subsequent drafting using software's like AutoCAD or Revit
- Make recommendations for materials to use and safety measures to take
- Review shop drawings and provide feedback to project managers
- Perform field visits and write reports detailing project status and progress

Requirements
Skills and Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (PE) Licensed in TN
- Minimum of 4 year of experience practicing structural engineering and design
- Strong technical background in structural design
- Deep knowledge of construction materials and methodologies
- Highly collaborative spirit and experience working in a team
- Problem-solving skills to quickly address issues that arise
- Work onsite in our Knoxville office in addition to the company's Hybrid Policy benefit
- Structural Engineering (SE) License
- Structural Design Experience for Water/Wastewater Facilities
- Retaining Wall Design Experience (Gravity, Cantilever, Embedded, etc.)
- Bridge Design Experience
- Licensed in Kentucky or ability to get licensure within 6 months from date of hire
- Experience with design software, like AutoCAD or Revit
- Working knowledge of local compliance, zoning, and building codes
