Process Engineer - Manufacturing
Location: Syracuse, NY
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and resolve process issues, ensuring product quality and manufacturing efficiency
  • Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve technical and quality challenges
  • Lead teams (Operators, Mechanics, R&D, etc.) to develop new products and processes
  • Supervise startup of new products, production lines, and tooling
  • Support cost reduction through process and tooling modifications, scrap reduction, and equipment changes
  • Implement Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma principles to optimize operations
  • Analyze data and work with maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability
  • Lead safety initiatives and improve operational discipline to reduce downtime
  • Maintain Food Safety Certification and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards

Qualifications:

  • BS or BT in Engineering or a Technical Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields)
    OR
    A.A.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Technology with 5+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practices, and industry regulations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Oracle, and project management software
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Preferred:
    • Experience in the paper or fiberboard industry, Lithography, or Flexography printing
    • Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
    • Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, Gemba walks, Fishbone diagrams)
    • Previous experience managing large-scale capital projects
