Process Engineer - Manufacturing
Location: Syracuse, NY
Salary: $80,000 - $95,000

Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot and resolve process issues, ensuring product quality and manufacturing efficiency
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to resolve technical and quality challenges
- Lead teams (Operators, Mechanics, R&D, etc.) to develop new products and processes
- Supervise startup of new products, production lines, and tooling
- Support cost reduction through process and tooling modifications, scrap reduction, and equipment changes
- Implement Continuous Improvement, Lean, and Six Sigma principles to optimize operations
- Analyze data and work with maintenance teams to enhance equipment reliability
- Lead safety initiatives and improve operational discipline to reduce downtime
- Maintain Food Safety Certification and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
Qualifications:
- BS or BT in Engineering or a Technical Degree (Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields)
OR
A.A.S. in Mechanical or Electrical Technology with 5+ years of relevant experience - Strong knowledge of OSHA, Good Manufacturing Practices, and industry regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Oracle, and project management software
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks
- Preferred:
- Experience in the paper or fiberboard industry, Lithography, or Flexography printing
- Knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Familiarity with continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, Gemba walks, Fishbone diagrams)
- Previous experience managing large-scale capital projects
