Job Title: Lead, Systems Engineering - RC135 Raven Simulations Systems Job Code: 17201 Job Location: Nellis AFB, NV (On-Site) Job Schedule: 1st Shift M-F 5/8 (Mission dependent) Job Description: The Lead, Systems Engineer -135 Raven Mission Simulation Systems Lead for our location at Nellis AFB, Nevada, will be responsible for supporting the USAF’s RC-135 mission aircraft and its related ground support systems. Candidates for the position must already have a thorough understanding of the RC-135 mission, aircraft operational capabilities, employment, crew complements, and various supporting ground mission systems. The lead develops and implements training scenarios focused on Raven systems and capabilities while interacting with the user during aircrew training events. Essential Functions: Leads support to RC-135 Rivet Joint aircrew during ground training using the MCTS. Develops and implements training scenarios, specializing in basic operator Raven functions while interacting with the user during aircrew training events. Operates the MCTS and associated simulation environment generation processors during mission simulations and DMO events. Makes recommendations to improve scenario generation software and to resolve equipment problems. Maintains the software used to operate the simulator and performs system troubleshooting and repair. Operates the RC-135 Mission Crew Training System (MCTS) and associated simulation scenario generation processors during mission simulations, Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) events, and virtual exercises. Makes recommendations to improve scenario generation software and to resolve equipment problems. Maintains the software used to operate the simulator and performs system troubleshooting and repair. Position requires periodic shift work and occasional weekend work depending on customer tasking. Requires periodic travel up to 10% of the time. Ability to be deployed worldwide. Able to work independently with minimal direction. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree with nine (9) years of prior RC-135 Raven Mission Systems operations experience. Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of prior RC-135 Raven Mission Systems operations experience. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 13 years of prior RC-135 Raven Mission Systems operations experience. Must have an active Secret DoD Security Clearance at the time of hire with the ability to obtain Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance and successfully pass a CI polygraph within the first year. Ability to obtain Security+ certification or higher within 6 months of hire. Must be a US Citizen. Preferred Additional Skills: RC-135V/W Raven Tactical Coordinator qualified, current or previous. RC-135 mission trainer operations and capabilities experience. USAF weapon systems tactics and employment experienced/qualified. Familiarity with Distributed Mission Operations (DMO).
