Moog Military Aircraft Group has an immediate opening for a Senior NX Support-Systems Engineer. You will report to our Group Data and Configuration Manager. This position can be based in Torrance, CA; Salt Lake City, UT; or Seattle, WA. Flexible or remote work arrangements may be considered.
You will provide user level support in the Siemens NX CAD and Teamcenter PLM applications. This position provides training and mentoring to a cross site, multi-discipline Engineering organization, primarily at the Torrance, CA and Salt Lake City, UT. You will collaborate with users to address problem CAD parts, assemblies and models and provide solutions with a focus on Root Cause Analysis (RCA) to eliminate similar problems in the future. This will be accomplished by developing and instructing users on best practices, making system configuration changes, or working with developers on programmatically correcting deficiencies.
To be considered for the Senior NX Support-Systems Engineer role, here's what you'll typically need to bring with you:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, aerospace, and another engineering discipline is required.
- A minimum of 3 years working in an engineering or product design role, or a minimum of 8 years working in a CAx support role is required.
- Expert working knowledge of NX CAD, Teamcenter, and NX Manager are required. A background in performing RCA is desired.
- Experience with Model Based Design (MBD) and Product & Manufacturing Information (PMI).
- Demonstrable expertise using Siemens NX for product design, drafting, CAD modeling, and the application of PMI are required.
- Demonstrable expertise using Siemens Teamcenter (both rich access client and Active Workspace client) and NX Manager are required. Experience with Teamcenter system administration is desired.
- Experience developing NX user automation tools and software is strongly preferred.
As a Sr. CAx Systems Engineer, you will...
- Provide specialist and technical support to Engineering users of NX and Teamcenter, including training, troubleshooting, mentoring, and process guidance.
- Develop process automation and user tools, using Knowledge Based Engineering methodologies, to enhance Engineering efficiency and process compliance.
- Apply Root Cause Analysis to user problems, with the goal of minimizing or eliminating future occurrences.
- Be a part of a team that helps define and test the parameters of use of Computer Aided Design tools used at Moog. This includes defining standards, best practices and procedures that comply with the business needs.
- Identify and assess trends and problems, to aid in the evaluation of the impact and priority, to implement fixes and changes.
- Documentation and lessons learned from Incident/Request Closure to either User-Facing knowledge, or internal knowledge amongst the Support Team
- Becoming an expert in PLM software, tools, and business processes
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge about software and hardware supplied by the manufacturers of the installed computer systems and third-party suppliers. This includes the base operating system software that turns the hardware into a computing system as well as database, data communications and ancillary software products.
- Assist in troubleshooting problems that occur with existing applications.
- Develop a working relationship with software vendors to obtain vendor assistance in troubleshooting activities and when applying vendor supplied software revisions.
- Work with the Business Process Managers to evaluate incoming user improvement requests against the overall PLM strategy for consideration in upcoming development efforts for new system functionality.
- Interface with PLM Business Analysts, users, and Subject Matter Experts to support PLM initiatives.

Salary Range Transparency:
Torrance, CA $70,000.00-$130,000.00 Annually

Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
