  • POSITION STANDARDS
    • High School Diploma or GED certification - preferred.
    • Prior experience as a housekeeper in a hospital setting preferred.
    • Some background in institutional cleaning required.
    • Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
    • Able to work under pressure. Ability to use initiative and judgment. Requires completion of task under deadlines.
    • Valid and current drivers license with no violations and/or infractions in the past three years

  • PART TWO: FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
    • Position Objective
      • Ensures all APD campus floors are kept clean, safe and welcoming for patients and employees. All employees will not be designated to one specific area/building on their shift. Float positions will require an employee fill in whenever scheduling conflicts arise. Performs other duties as assigned.
    • Performance Expectation
      • Vacuums and extracts carpeted floors on a routine basis.
      • Machine mops all main hallway in the hospital nightly.
      • Provides care maintenance to floors: Mop, Buff, Strip and Re-Wax floors.
      • Buffs Med Surg showers floors on a monthly basis.
      • Extracts furnishings, floors and equipment with proper cleaning solutions.
      • Provide floor care to the outer clinics as assigned using the company vehicle when necessary.
      • Pick up all trash and linen from the outer clinics and transfer to dumpster/linen room using the company vehicle when necessary.
      • Wipe down all equipment used on a nightly basis to avoid build up.
      • Assists with Employee floor training and answers floor care questions by co-workers.
      • Notify (ES) Manager when floor cleaning supplies are low.
      • Notify (ES) Manager of mechanical failures or unsafe conditions.
      • Cross train in OR and all outer Clinics on campus in order to cover as needed.
      • Other duties as assigned by Environmental Services Heads.
