Role Overview
The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for the safe and efficient implementation, execution, and improvement of asset integrity, maintenance, and reliability (AIM&R) programs as well as facilitating and driving improvement projects across the PureCycle network of plants, providing support to the facilities in various projects that improve reliability and asset performance. The Maintenance Engineer works daily at the plant site with the Maintenance organization to provide engineered solutions to minimize repair time or maximize Mean Time to Failure of plant assets.
What You'll Be Doing
Utilize Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques to review significant failures, identify corrective action to prevent re-occurrence, and refine asset strategy to sustain improvement.
Mine data to identify reliability improvement opportunities and develop corrective actions focused on delivering productivity improvement and cost reduction.
Develop engineering solutions to repetitive failures and other problems that adversely impact plant safety, capacity, quality, cost, or regulatory compliance.
Plan projects, establish project criteria, coordinate project reviews, and ensure proper implementation of project elements as needed to advance facility reliability, safety, and cost position.
Collaborate with other team members to execute the Predictive Maintenance (PdM) Program seeking ways to leverage tools and deliver value.
Create or modify asset strategies using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) or Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA) methodologies.
Identify deficiencies in maintenance processes and develop sustainable improvements.
Provide reliability technical support for Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and Procurement activities. Also provide training and coaching as needed to engage personnel in improved execution of AIM&R programs.
Provide technical leadership to maintain, improve, and advance the Process Safety Management program throughout the facility.
Ability to travel to all PureCycle facilities as needed to support the plant with improving overall facility reliability.
Perform as the Maintenance Technology Champion to develop and document procedures and protocols for safe and effective asset repair.
Basic Qualifications (Required)
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to develop solutions.
Experience leading capital improvement projects and initiatives.
5+ years' experience as a Maintenance / Reliability Engineer or equivalent experience in an industrial manufacturing setting.
Facilitation capability with RCA and experience with leveraging the process for defect elimination.
Knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) OSHA 1910.119.
Knowledge of equipment design and failure modes. Experience with interpreting forensic evidence to identify failure modes. Ability to lead and be part of cross functional teams.
Experience with using RCM or FMEA methodologies to develop asset strategies.
Excellent written, listening, and verbal communication skills.
Outstanding interpersonal skills including the ability to work as part of a team.
Advanced skills in basic personal computer software (Microsoft applications) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
Nice to Haves
Industry certifications such as CMRP, CRE, MLT1, MLA2, Six Sigma, PMP, various PdM Technologies
10+ years of relevant work experience.
Self-driven. Always striving to develop improvements in facility safety, quality, and production.
Previous work experience and understanding of Process Safety Management (PSM).
