Estimating Manager

This position directs and supervises the daily activities of the estimating staff and works closely with the Sales Representatives and the Sales Manager. The Estimating Manager is responsible for the coordination and supervision of all estimating activities in a manner that achieves timely and accurate quotes. This individual will coordinate the estimating function with other departments on matters involving product design, pricing, manufacturing, and costs.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Accuracy of building quotes.

• Leading estimating team: Providing guidance and support to ensure accurate and timely estimates.

• Analyzing project cost: Developing, adjusting, and validating cost estimates.

• Collaboration: Working closely with project managers, engineers, and sales teams.

• Assures compatibility between customer needs and Alliance capabilities.

• Training and development of all department staff personnel.

• Responsible for communicating and implementing department policies and procedures.

• Responsible for maintaining current knowledge of all Alliance engineering and manufacturing capabilities and limitations.

• Responsible for submitting quotation requests to purchasing nonstandard buyout items.

Requirements

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Must be familiar with IAS requirements.

• Good communication and interpersonal relationship skills.

Education and Experience:

• Knowledge of metal building systems and the construction process.

• Knowledge of blueprint reading and specification interpretation.
