POSITION SUMMARY


USA Lacrosse is looking for an Events Manager who will be responsible for the operational and "behind the scenes" success of USA Lacrosse's events. This critical role supports the Director, Events and SR Manager, Events to plan, coordinate, and execute all events. They will keep the pulse on and own all event logistics, coordinate vendors, and provide oversight of the onsite event team. The Manager, Events ensures the overall event execution is seamless, remaining aligned with organizational goals of the event with innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion at its core.

A Typical Day Looks Like...
  • Works with Events team on the strategy, planning, and implementation of all USA Lacrosse events. This includes working cross functionally to provide business operations support such as event documentation and contract management.
  • Develops event schedules and agendas in collaboration with key stakeholders to build alignment with initiative roadmaps, brand outreach/messaging, business priorities, and executive vision, ensuring event and departmental objectives are incorporated and met.
  • Collaborates with internal teams to develop immersive and innovative event strategies and experiences to align with USAL's overall organizational goals and brand strategies. This includes regulating and standardizing processes to cultivate consistent vendor relationships to deliver a brand-conscious streamlined products.
  • Works with cross-functional/departmental teams and the Director, Events to ensure positioning, brand messaging, goals, deliverables, and tactics are achieved before, during, and after each USAL event.
  • Collaborates with the Partnership and Sponsorship team to identify and create selling opportunities that can be packaged and customized to benefit both parties. This includes creatively identifying win/win opportunities for USAL and the partner/sponsor to increase revenue for both parties and brand awareness to help offset cost for USAL's events.
  • Manages, coordinates, and monitors all aspects of event execution within designated facilities including, but not limited to, schedule, registration and payment processing, staffing, setup/breakdown operations, event and liability insurance, and implementation of any necessary weather and/or EAP.
  • Manages and controls inventory of events equipment, including conducting periodic and annual inventory of equipment and makes recommendations for replacement of equipment as needed.
  • Supports the SR Manager, Events with the execution of the strategy for event ticketing, team registration, volunteer registration, officials' registration, and event partner registration in collaboration with IT, Marketing/Media/Content team, and Finance to ensure we can track, forecast, and plan for attendance and have comprehensive data for analysis and planning purposes.
  • Assists with gathering feedback from event attendees, vendors, and stakeholders' post-event, compiling insights to improve future events. This includes assisting with post-event evaluations by tracking event success, preparing reports, and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Supports the development and standardization of procedures, including writing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) documents, for event execution, ensuring consistency and efficiency in future events.
Is This You...
  • 2-3 years of experience in event coordination or a related field, preferably in the sports or non-profit sector.
  • Understanding of event logistics, vendor management, scheduling, and material tracking.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams, vendors, and event stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, follow up/through skills, and ability to meet deadlines. This includes the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively across multiple projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with event management or project management tools (e.g., Monday.com, Salesforce).
  • Enthusiastic go-getter with a "roll up your sleeves" and "get it done" attitude.
  • Proactive and resourceful thinker, able to handle event-related issues and troubleshooting problems during event execution.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, hybrid (remote & work from home), dynamic environment.
  • Comfortable managing others and giving directions in an event setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and interpersonal.
  • Strong collaboration skills, including the ability to work with different types of personalities across multiple departments for the purpose of planning and execution of events.
  • Ability to exercise the appropriate level of discretion and judgment with the capability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive and proprietary information and materials.
  • Ability to be flexible with your work schedule, including availability to work nights and weekends based on event needs. This may also include overnight travel for USA Lacrosse events.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license for domestic travel for USA Lacrosse events. This includes the ability to rent and drive a rental vehicle for business purposes.
  • Willingness to learn about the sport of lacrosse and appreciate the need to develop, grow, and fuel the growth of the sport with diversity, equity, and inclusion in mind.
  • Ability to align with USA Lacrosse's Mission, Vision, and Values and Strategic Plan to support our initiatives and organizational goals.
Expected Hours of Work
This position is generally expected to work Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:00pm and occasionally requires longer hours or weekend work as related to events and other business needs. This is a hybrid position and works from the headquarters office in Sparks, MD three (3) days a week with the flexibility to work from home two (2) days a week.

Compensation & Benefits Overview
The total compensation pay range (inclusive of base salary plus annual incentive pay potential) for this position is $58,000 to $68,000 commensurate with experience.

Travel Requirements
Travel may be necessary up to 30% of the time (local, regional). Travel would involve the following mode(s) of travel: car, train, or air. Some out of area and overnight travel will be expected.
