Total Vehicle Evaluation Engineer

Hyundai America Technical Center, Inc. (HATCI) is looking for a Total Vehicle Evaluation Engineer with a focus on ADAS & Drivability Evaluations at our Proving Ground in California City, California.
Responsibilities:
- Test and verify ADAS system performance at the vehicle level and against defined requirements in a proving ground environment as well as on public roads.
- Evaluate the drivability performance of test vehicles in diverse driving conditions.
- Instrument vehicles and collect / analyze data related to ADAS and Powertrain systems.
- Evaluate the overall performance of Hyundai/Kia/Genesis test vehicles from the North American customer perspective.
- Perform subjective vehicle evaluations, identify potential customer complaint issues, and investigate problem root cause with the support of system development engineers.
- Plan Design Reviews and Ride & Drives of prototype and pilot vehicles.
- Organize benchmarking activities on competitive vehicles. Benchmark competitor vehicles for technology & trends.
- Track the development status of Hyundai/Kia/Genesis prototype and pilot vehicle projects.
- Summarize media reviews and customer feedback of Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles.
- Review customer feedback through JD Power IQS, Consumer Reports, and Customer Clinics to understand areas for improvement in vehicle development.
- Develop standardized test procedures, test methods, and guidelines.
- Interface regularly with Hyundai and Kia affiliates in North America.
- Support Autonomous vehicle and Powertrain development activities.
- Participate in vehicle evaluations & ride-and-drive activities - provide subjective feedback on vehicle performance and identify ADAS & drivability issues.
- Write clear and concise reports to document drivability issues, countermeasure effectiveness, and competitor vehicle evaluations.
- Travel up to 25%, domestically and internationally to support product development and testing.

Compensation:
- $70,000 - $125,000
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field of study
- 2+ years of engineering experience
- 2+ years of relevant engineering experience in the automotive industry
- Working knowledge of vehicle advanced driver assistance systems (for example, Smart Cruise Control, Lane Departure Assist, Forward Collision Avoidance, ...)
- Good understanding of powertrain systems and vehicle dynamics (chassis & brakes)
- Background in prototype vehicle on-road testing and performance measurement is desirable
- Good computer skills and experience in measurement and calibration with ETAS/Vector tools - INCA/MDA/Canoe
- Proficiency with Matlab/Simulink simulation
- Capability to take initiative to solve issues with little or no direction with attention to detail
- Good project management and technical writing skills
- Flexibility in handling multiple projects and changing priorities

- Proficiency in planning, executing, and monitoring projects.
- Strong analytical skills, data-driven decision-making abilities.
- Excellent written communication and presentation skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

- Valid Driver's License and satisfactory driving record
