The purpose of this class is to assist in the maintenance of county facilities and related systems.

Physical Demands/Work Environment:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.
Unavoidable hazards refer to the job conditions that may lead to injury or health hazards even though precautions have been taken.
The work is typically performed while sitting, standing, bending, crouching, or stooping. The employee frequently lifts light and heavy objects, climbs and operates tools or equipment.
The work is typically performed in an office and outdoors, occasionally in cold or inclement weather. The employee is exposed to noise, dust, dirt, grease, machinery and chemicals. The work requires the use of protective devices such as masks, goggles, gloves, etc.

- Prepares surfaces by sanding, filling, priming, and matching colors to prepare surfaces.
- Applies paint using brushes, rollers, and sprayers to apply paint, stains, varnishes, enamel, or lacquer
- Protects surfaces by covering with drop cloth or masking tape and paper.
- Mixes paints, stains, or varnishes to achieve the desired color, tint and texture.
- Performs related work as assigned.
- Requires High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Requires a combination of skills, knowledge, and physical ability.
- Requires two years of experience applying paint and completing quality jobs.
