Position Summary:

The National Account Manager is responsible for managing relationships with key accounts, driving revenue growth, and ensuring customer satisfaction. This role involves strategic planning, negotiation, and collaboration with internal teams to achieve sales targets and deliver exceptional service to clients. The National Account Manager will oversee product sales for existing and potential customers, engage in problem-solving, develop new initiatives, and advocate for JL Clark's interests. Additionally, this role involves budgeting and forecasting sales for assigned customers and developing growth plans to ensure ongoing business success.

PRIMARY DUTIES:
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers on specified accounts.
  • Understand account-specific needs and objectives, developing tailored solutions to meet their requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and product development, to deliver integrated solutions that drive customer satisfaction.
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with accounts, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer feedback to identify new growth opportunities and drive strategic initiatives.
  • Develop and execute account-specific business plans to achieve sales targets, monitor profitability, and make necessary adjustments to meet goals.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on account status, sales forecasts, and emerging market trends.
  • Quickly and effectively resolve customer concerns to maintain a high level of satisfaction.
  • Organize and prioritize responsibilities to ensure optimal market coverage.
  • Manage representatives, as needed, to maximize the achievement of sales goals and desired outcomes.
  • Provide input on new product development, new market entry, and customer acquisition strategies for JL Clark.
  • Communicate regularly with JL Clark via weekly activity reports, monthly customer activity updates, and timely reports on forecasts and growth plans.
  • Participate in the development of the annual budget and market forecasts for JL Clark.
  • Share critical information across departments to optimize understanding, reduce inefficiencies, and maximize overall results for the company.
  • Ensure JL Clark maintains its reputation as a reliable, on-time supplier of high-quality products.
  • High degree of travel is required regularly to customers locations and JL Clark meetings and events. Sometimes on short notice.
  • Perform duties within the policies, guidelines, and objectives of J.L. Clark.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality and integrity.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills as well as superior interpersonal skills with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential situations with tact, professionalism, and diplomacy.
  • Must have an excellent attendance and work record.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the above duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Education, Training & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Sales, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of success in sales or account management, ideally within the consumer products packaging industry (metal and plastics).
  • Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and analyze complex business situations to develop effective solutions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, manage multiple responsibilities, and meet deadlines.
  • Self-starter with strong discipline and the ability to work independently.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Strong advocacy for both the customer and business success.
