POSITION SUMMARY: Perform skilled piping maintenance duties in the inspection, pipe and tube bending, repair, installation, read blueprints, hydraulics and alteration of pipe systems valves and controls, piping systems of water, steam, chilled water, and process fluids.

POSITION SUMMARY: Perform skilled piping maintenance duties in the inspection, pipe and tube bending, repair, installation, read blueprints, hydraulics and alteration of pipe systems valves and controls, piping systems of water, steam, chilled water, and process fluids.
ESSENTIAL TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Inspect, repair, modify and install piping, pipe welding valves, system and process control components.
- Review building plans and specifications to determine the layout and troubleshooting for piping systems, piping controls and related components
- Identify required tools and special equipment
- Select the type and size of pipe and valves required
- Locate and mark positions for connections, equipment, and system components
- Install supports and hangers for pipe, components and equipment
- Assemble and install valves and fittings
- Install, repair and maintain HVAC, piping and process controls
- Install, repair and maintain water heaters and conditioners
- Test pipe systems and fixtures for leaks
- Perform scheduled maintenance service on piping systems and control valves
- Apply all codes to installations, repairs and maintenance
- Ensure all requirements as specified by the manufacturer of systems and fixtures are met
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance are properly sized, aligned, supported and graded
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet the requirements of the appropriate codes
- Ensure all installations, repairs and maintenance meet environmental protection requirements
BASELINE QUALIFICATIONS: Possess a current State of Michigan Plumbers License or Journeyman's card.
