Description
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Building Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and accessibility of our facilities. This includes opening and closing the church, monitoring the building during operational hours, and reviewing security camera footage as needed.
Qualifications
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical ability to walk throughout the facility, open and close doors, and lift up to 25 pounds.
- Basic knowledge of security systems or camera monitoring is a plus.
- Ability to communicate confidently and accurately in verbal, written, and demonstrative form. Ability to listen, understand, and ask questions for clarification.
- With or without reasonable accommodations, able to: walk, stand, sit, talk, hear; operate objects, motor vehicles; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb; vision abilities to see close, far, color, and ability to adjust focus.
- Unlock all facility doors promptly in the mornings to prepare for daily operations.
- Securely lock all facility doors at the end of each day.
- Monitor the building throughout operational hours to ensure safety and proper use of the facility.
- Review and manage security camera footage to identify and report any irregularities or safety concerns.
- Assist with light maintenance or troubleshooting facility issues as needed.
- Serve as a point of contact for facility-related concerns during scheduled hours.
- Follow established protocols for building emergencies or unusual situations.

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in building maintenance, security, or related roles preferred.
- Work with: Facilities Team, Staff, Security, Janitorial Vendor, Servants, Church Members
- Report to: Facilities Director
