Tehachapi Cement, LLC is seeking a qualified Reliability Engineer to join our team at the Tehachapi plant. The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for enhancing equipment reliability, developing maintenance strategies, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. This role requires a strong focus on continuous improvement, technical expertise, and collaboration with various departments to optimize plant performance and minimize equipment downtime.
Responsibilities:
- Continuous Improvement: Enhance equipment Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) by conducting root-cause failure analyses (RCFAs) and developing action plans based on downtime analysis.
- Inspection Program: Oversee the execution of the inspection program to assess equipment condition using proper techniques.
- Budget Participation: Contribute to the annual capital improvement and replacement budget and assist in the engineering and installation of capital projects.
- PM/PDM Program: Develop and refine the Preventive/Predictive Maintenance (PM/PDM) program, coordinating with equipment custodians and maintenance management.
- Scheduling: Work with planners and schedulers to ensure timely performance of PM/PDM inspections.
- Data Management: Manage and analyze data, records, and equipment histories to optimize inspection frequencies and refine maintenance strategies.
- Problem Solving: Develop solutions for recurring equipment failures and process losses, aiming to reduce maintenance needs and eliminate failures.
- Lubrication Program: Establish and manage the lubrication program and oil analysis for critical equipment.
- Installation Approval: Participate in approving new installations and major repairs, including contractor work, to ensure maintainability and reliability.
- Compliance: Adhere to federal, state, and local regulatory requirements and company safety policies.
- Environmental Support: Support plant environmental programs with engineering solutions and daily maintenance activities.
- On-Call Rotation: Participate in the on-call rotation within the maintenance department.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field.
- Certifications: Continual Improvement training or certification (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) preferred.
- Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and detail-oriented skills.
- Experience: Familiarity with Microsoft Project and CMMS (JDE preferred). Experience in plant operations and/or maintenance preferred.
- Supervisory Experience: Experience in a supervisory role is a plus.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficient in action plan development and management.
- Compensation: Annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $115,000.
