Description Role Snapshot As a Compensation Specialist you will play a crucial role in our mission to attract, engage, and retain top talent. We are seeking a compensation professional who will help support and understand our complex business, support its needs, deliver solutions, and execute efficiently/effectively. In this role, you will have the opportunity to help with the evolution of our WPS compensation program, assist with operational compensation support (internal equity analysis, Service Contract Act (SCA) hourly rate reviews, HRIS system data updates and administration), reviewing and approving compensation transactions, creating new job codes, and working closely with recruitment for compensation review. Salary Range $60,000 - $85,000 The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may fall outside the posted range.Work LocationThis role will require work out of our Madison, WI headquarters; first consideration will be individuals located near Madison Wisconsin to take advantage of Hybrid collaboration. We will consider individuals in Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Minnesota. Our office location: WPS Corporate Center Building - 1717 W. Broadway in Madison, WI. Compensation Programs: Participates in the design, implementation, and administration of the annual merit process, short-term incentive plan, and long-term incentive plan. Configures compensation designs into the HR system, testing applications, and developing communications and training materials. Collaborates with HR leaders, HR business partners and business leaders to ensure programs are well executed. Compensation Operations: Partners in managing day-to-day operational activities and ensuring compliance with applicable state and federal laws and regulations, including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and the Service Contract Act (SCA). Compensation Architecture: Assists in updating and maintaining business rules within HR systems associated with job-related fields, along with reviewing and updating salary range assignments. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience. 1 or more years of compensation-specific work experience. Preferred Qualifications 3 or more years of compensation-specific work experience Strong understanding of employment compliance, regulations and laws. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
