We have an exciting opportunity for a Global EHS Manager supporting our Canada, USA, and Chile operations. The role will oversee the EHS function for North America and provide support to the EHS team in Chile. This integral member of the senior leadership team plays a pivotal strategic role in leading the Environment, Safety & Health (EHS) initiatives. Reporting to the President of Engineering & Field Services, the successful candidate will be accountable for continued development and maintenance of the EHS programs for the business unit. This individual will drive efforts throughout the organization to ensure adherence to safety standards and develop a culture of safety. The ideal candidate would reside in Houston, Texas, Denver, Colorado, Riverside California, or Bakersfield California.

GOALS
  • Improve visibility, consistency, and execution of EHS services across the Engineering and Technical Field Services organization in USA, Canada.
  • Provide support and collaborate with the EHS team in Chile.
  • Increase skill related to incident investigations.
  • Improve the EHS culture by focusing core elements of the EHS program on meaningful topics related to the key activities performed by field team members
  • Lead initiatives that will drive the maintenance of the current 0.0 TRIR.
  • Lead two Safety Advisors (1 in Canada and 1 in the US)
OBJECTIVES
  • Manage the business unit EHS budget.
  • Ensure that annual safety audits for all operational regions are performed by the EHS team or operations management.
  • Oversee Certificate of Recognition (COR) safety certifications for Canadian operations in collaboration with Canada Safety Advisor.
  • Oversee the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP) audit for US operations in collaboration with the US Safety Advisors.
  • Develop the Annual EHS Plan for business unit
  • Meaningful safety statistics reporting for all regions
  • Increase front-line interactions with field crews employing routine job site inspections for all regions
  • Engage safety representatives from each region, ensuring that there is adequate representation at the Joint Workplace EHS Committee.
  • Conduct effective and inclusive quarterly Joint Workplace EHS Committee meetings
  • Conduct effective and inclusive monthly EHS meetings for all employees
  • Contribute timely input to various Pre-qualification organizations
  • Develop capacity to consult with clients on EHS related training and/or program development
ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Develop, update and review EHS documents as required
  • Develop strategy, annual goals for EHS, incorporating industry trends. Manage annual EHS budget
  • Responsible for facilitating annual company-wide safety program audits for all regions to applicable established regional standards
  • Lead quarterly EHS committee meetings
  • Lead serious or High Potential incident investigations
  • Manage WCB, OSHA and MSHA accounts
  • Responsible for internal EHS communications and influencing positive EHS culture
  • Meet/link with Client EHS representatives
  • Manage all aspects of EHS program for the business unit
  • Complete policy updates to ensure our EHS Management System is up to date, effective, and implemented
  • Work closely with department managers to understand and execute the company's EHS program, policies, and procedures
  • Assist in the development of EHS strategies and implement corporate and department initiatives focused on safety
  • Act as a resource, providing EHS support for leaders and employees
  • Ensure all accidents and incidents are investigated to identify causes, prepare reports and monitor the implementation of corrective actions or preventative actions.
  • Act as the lead safety contact for client communication
  • Responsible to identify EHS training including Safety orientation for new hires and other required safety training
  • Influence business unit management and employees to adhere to EHS policies and procedures through expertise, coaching, and training
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND INVOLVEMENT
  • Participate in setting long and short-term goals for all regions
  • Provide quarterly updates to executive leadership team
  • Participate in the maintenance of technical materials and content relating to EHS.
  • Manage and use the Company's Safety Management Software.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in a lead EHS role working in an Engineering or Technical Field Services environment
  • Experience leading team(s) of EHS professionals
  • Experience leading a EHS department for a multi-regional organization
  • Bachelor of Science in Occupational Health and Safety, Safety Engineering or relevant field experience
  • Experience in the electrical discipline is an asset.
  • Professional designation such as CRSP, CSP, CIH or NEBOSH is considered an asset.
  • Deep understanding of legal EHS requirements in Canada and USA
  • Experience with Energy Safety Canada and Alberta or Construction Safety Association Certificate of Recognition (COR) program certification requirements is an asset.
  • Certified Auditor for COR or other related programs such as OSHA VPP or ISO 45001
  • Exceptional leadership skills with the ability to engage, motivate and influence all levels of the organization
  • Ability to multi-task, exercise good judgment and prioritize workload through outstanding organizational skills
  • Excellent time management skills with an outstanding attention to detail and observation skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Dedicated to providing exceptional client experiences to our internal and external clients
  • Must be able to travel to client sites
  • Must have a valid drivers' license
  • A positive, "can-do" attitude, is highly self-motivated, energetic, passionate, and reliable
  • Advanced experience using Microsoft 365.
