*Onsite position based in Tampa, FL*

To provide aerospace systems engineering support to the business and development teams with domain knowledge in the application of antennas and antenna systems for space, airborne, terrestrial and maritime antenna systems in applications of communications, radar, electronic warfare and TT&C.  The Antenna Systems Engineer will have a key role in the capture of new business by directly engaging with our customers, develop technical content in proposals to provide highly competitive solutions. Must be a U.S.  with ability to hold US DoD security clearance. 

Responsibilities:

  • Development of antenna architecture solutions.
  • Engage with customers to perform needs analysis, operational concepts and tradeoff analysis for antenna system opportunities.
  • Technical review of customer requirements and support decomposition of system level requirements to hardware and software requirements.
  • Provide competitive analysis and risk analysis to support decision making by our executive leadership and program management teams
  • Support verification activities by working with systems and test engineers.

Technical Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Applications of antennas for multiple use cases including fixed, mechanically and electronically steerable antennas. 
  • Antenna specifications for multiple types of passive and active antennas in frequency bands ranging from VHF to millimeterWave. This includes in depth understanding of interfaces to RF, power and control interfaces for specifying antenna control units, pedestals, positioners, slip rings/rotary joints, radomes, power supply units, sensors, modems and RF/ digitization components including filters, LNAs, HPAs, BUCs, BDCs, DDCs and DUCs.
  • Antenna measurements methods including those performed in test labs, test ranges (i.e. Farfield, Nearfield Scanner, Compact Ranges) and field test environments. 
  • Aerospace systems engineering processes used in the product development lifecycle.

Experience:

  • Minimum of ten (10+) years engineering experience in antenna systems development
  • Providing technical content for proposals as well as cost and schedule estimation.
  • Development of antenna systems used in airborne, ground, and maritime applications.
  • Developing and presenting technical content at formal reviews including planning, requirements, design, verification and production readiness.
  • Collaborating with multiple disciplines in an Integrated Product Team environment. 

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or similar technical study
  • Graduate degree or coursework in Antenna/RF Engineering/Systems Engineering is desirable.

Travel:

  • Up to 20% travel may be required
  •  Travel to include domestic and international travel

Security: Ability to obtain Secret Security Clearance (U.S. required)
