Working/Functional Title Digital Content Strategist Position Summary Join Michigan State University Institute for Global Health and Global Health Studies program within the Institute at Michigan State University as a Digital Marketing Strategist to play a vital role in shaping our digital presence! You'll produce timely, relevant, and compelling content that not only aligns with the MSU and the Institute for Global Health brand, but also highlights the educational programs offered through the Global Health Studies program within the Institute. As a key member of our dynamic globally focused team, you'll have the opportunity to innovate through email marketing, manage web content, and enhance our search engine optimization efforts. Your creativity will shine as you develop digital assets across various channels, including social media, and analyze performance metrics to drive our strategic goals forward. This position will directly report to the Associate Dean for Global Health and Director of the Institute for Global Health, the digital marketing specialist has hands-on experience in digital content production and data-informed marketing. Responsibilities will include: Email communications: Prepare invitations in support of global health faculty, student and international events. Create monthly eNewsletter delivered to MSU faculty, students, alumni, international collaborators and leadership. Develop special email publications to engage and steward potential MSU donors. Research email best practices and incorporate them into email marketing efforts. Web content production/coordination: Produce and publish marketing content on Institute for Global Health and Global Health Studies websites. Maintain and update website pages. Strategize with global health team on internal and external user experience enhancements. Ensure websites meet accessibility standards. Ensure website content is maximized for SEO. Paid social media content procurement: Write and design compelling social media ads to inform and engage MSU faculty students, international partners and alumni. Strategize and execute on best use/delivery of paid content on each of the Institute's social platforms. Analysis and reporting: Create regular reports on the success of content marketing efforts. Manage and develop analytics tools for analyzing digital marketing performance. Make recommendations based on content analysis. Content strategy: Collaborate with team members and key stakeholders to identify project goals and strategies. Write project scope and strategy plans. System/process management: Manage and support digital marketing tools. Uphold and improve current content management collection, storage, and processes. Travel required; Must have a valid driver's license. This position offers a hybrid role that is based in Michigan. Minimum Requirements Knowledge equivalent to that which normally would be acquired by completing a four-year college degree program in Journalism, Telecommunications, or Public Relations, Communications, or Digital Content Design; one to three years of related and progressively more responsible or expansive work experience in public and media relations, composing, editing and publication production, news, broadcasting, and print media, and/or marketing, advertising, and creative services; graphic design; word processing; desktop publishing; web design; presentation; spreadsheet and/or database software; public presentation; or radio production; or computer programming/technology; experience managing content for social media channels; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
