Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- New Business Development: Identify, assess, and pursue new business opportunities within the construction and real estate development sectors in New Jersey and surrounding regions.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including developers, architects, contractors, and local government agencies.
- Market Research & Strategy: Analyze market trends, competitors, and industry conditions to inform business strategies and decisions.
- Proposal and Bid Management: Lead the preparation of proposals, bids, and presentations to secure new projects and clients.
- Networking & Events: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and trade shows to increase visibility and build connections.
- Sales and Revenue Growth: Develop and implement strategies to increase the company's project pipeline and overall revenue.
- Collaboration with Teams: Work closely with internal teams (project management, estimating, and operations) to ensure smooth transitions from business development to project execution.
The Successful Applicant
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in business development or sales within the construction industry.
- Proven track record of successfully securing new business opportunities and achieving sales targets.
- Strong knowledge of the New Jersey construction market, including key players, regulatory landscape, and trends.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Ability to build and maintain lasting relationships with clients, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and execute long-term business strategies.
- Self-starter with a strong work ethic and the ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM software.
- Experience in industrial or commerical construction field
- Background in project management or estimating to assist the preconstruction team when needed
- Existing network of contacts in the New Jersey construction and real estate development sectors.
- Knowledge of local construction codes, regulations, and permitting processes.
