The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing the sales team to achieve the company's sales targets and growth objectives. This role involves developing and implementing sales strategies, leading a team of sales representatives, and ensuring the achievement of sales targets in the designated territory. The Sales Manager will focus on expanding the customer base and driving revenue growth through direct, face-to-face interactions with clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Recruit and select skilled sales representatives to build a high-performing sales team.
  2. Leads, mentors, and motivates the sales team to enhance performance and achieve sales targets.
  3. Fosters a positive and high-performance sales culture.
  4. Sets clear goals and expectations for the team and monitors their performance.
  5. Conducts regular performance evaluations and provides coaching to improve sales skills and effectiveness.
  6. Develops and implements sales plans and strategies to achieve targets and expand the customer base.
  7. Identifies new business opportunities and markets for growth.
  8. Leads the team in identifying and closing new business opportunities through direct interaction with clients.
  9. Develops and implements effective sales strategies and plans to achieve business objectives.
  10. Analyzes market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to identify new opportunities.
  11. Drives performance through focused oversight such as monitoring activity and progress.
  12. Builds and maintains strong, long-lasting customer relationships.
  13. Ensures the sales team provides excellent customer service and addresses customer needs effectively.
  14. Handles escalated customer issues and complaints promptly and professionally.
  15. Manages sales budgets and resources efficiently.
  16. Collaborates with marketing and other departments to support sales objectives.
  17. Conducts market research to stay informed about industry trends and the competitive landscape.
  18. Oversees the sales pipeline, ensuring timely and accurate reporting of sales activities and results.
  19. Prepares regular sales reports and presents findings and recommendations to senior management.
  20. Utilizes CRM software and other tools to track and analyze sales data.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements

Education
  1. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  2. Master's degree preferred.
Experience
  1. Five (5) years of experience in healthcare sales is required. Preferably in healthcare services.
  2. Three (3) years of experience managing a remote sales team.
  3. Familiarity with government contracts is required.
  4. Experience working within a non-profit organization is preferred.
Travel Requirements
  1. Employee will work remotely from a home-based office with frequent travel of approximately 50% to meet with clients and potential customers or attend industry events required.
  2. Flexible working hours, including evenings and weekends, may be required based on customer needs and business demands.
