We have a need for a Civil/Environmental/Geotechnical Engineer that a foundation in soil mechanics, geotechnical engineering, civil, or environmental engineering to work on a variety of engineering projects. Experience with slope stability, solid waste, and/or environmental remediation projects would be beneficial.

Construction observation/management, subsurface investigations, and geotechnical instrumentation is a plus. Under the direction of a Senior Engineer, this individual will provide support to ongoing design efforts that include preparation of design documents for foundations and excavations support systems; ground improvement; instrumentation; civil site design; and solid waste work.

Essential Responsibilities & Duties

  • Candidates will work with engineers, contractors, and clients while performing construction observation and documentation, materials testing services, and data collection for a wide range of engineering, construction, and environmental projects.
  • Support the development of decision-making documents such as feasibility studies and cost estimates, design and procurement documents such as engineering drawings and specification packages, and tools for contractor bid evaluation and construction oversight.
  • Support site investigations and site assessments including soil borings and testing, environmental sampling, and technical oversight of subcontractors.
  • Collect geotechnical/environmental data at sites.
  • Support data management and geotechnical analysis, technical report development, and assist in preparation of technical presentations and proposals to clients and regulators.
  • This position has a field component, so some travel is required. Candidates should be prepared to work in inclement conditions.
Minimum Qualifications
  • B.S. in Civil, Geotechnical or Environmental Engineering; M.S. is a plus. Associate degree considered with applicable experience.
  • Ability to obtain Professional Registration (P.E.) with experience.
  • Excellent technical report writing and communication skills.
  • Experience with spatial analysis and visualization software such as CAD, Civil 3D, and GIS a plus.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as needed.
  • Willingness and ability to perform field tasks and oversight.
  • 40 hr. HAZWOPER is a plus.
  • Valid U.S. driver's license.
