Position Summary

The Senior CRE Relationship Manager (VP/SVP) is responsible for managing and maintaining the banks relationships with Commercial Real Estate developers/investors. This position is responsible for the development of new and existing business through calling programs and cross-selling of Bank services. Maintaining loan quality and generating fee income are also key areas of responsibility. The Relationship Manager approves loans within his/her authority and is responsible for presenting loans for approval at various committees. In addition, the Relationship Manager is responsible for managing his/her current Commercial Real Estate portfolio. This position will report to the Market President. An RM I (AVP/VP) can report to an RM II (VP/SVP), if identified by the Market President.
Duties & Responsibilities
  • Additionally, the Relationship Manager will be responsible for:
    • Developing new business and prospects and generating Commercial Real Estate loans through referrals, business calls, and community involvement.
    • Networking with a variety of CRE COI's, investors and attorneys to establish a referral base for new business.
    • Cross-selling bank products, including Wealth Management, Treasury Management, and FirsTech in order to deepen banking relationships and optimize bank profitability.
    • Analyzing customers' financial data, structuring and negotiating credit transactions, and performing ongoing credit management.
    • Servicing existing customer relationships to maximize profitability.
    • Pursuing repayment of loans and contacting customers whose loans are past due or have overdrawn accounts.
    • Early detection of problem loans and generation of reports for management of impaired and criticized loans.
    • Assisting other lines of business with business development through referral activities.
  • Where applicable, the Commercial Market President may determine a need for a Relationship Manager II to support leadership in the management of Commercial PMs and/or RMs as well. Those duties would include:
    • Serving as a resource to associates
    • Act as a trainer/coach
Education & Experience
  • Knowledge of:
    • Strong oral and written communication skills
    • Strong sales and customer service skills
  • Ability to:
    • Generate revenue at 20/10/10 - Level II
    • Analyze and interpret financial data
    • Analyze and solve problems of a complex nature in a timely manner
    • Make independent and informed decisions within parameters of the Bank's loan policies
    • Originate new procedures and approaches to problems
  • Education and Training:
    • Requires Bachelor's degree preferably with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance.
    • Requires 5 or more years of banking, finance, Commercial Real Estate lending or sales related experience.
    • Twelve months or more credit analysis/underwriting experience required.
    • Requires knowledge of Microsoft Office
