Job Summary:
The Senior Field Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic field marketing initiatives across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with corporate marketing goals and regional sales objectives. This senior role involves leading and managing field marketing teams, driving brand visibility, and fostering consumer engagement through localized marketing strategies, events, and partnerships. The Senior Field Marketing Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, promotions, product development, and warehouse operations, to optimize marketing efforts and ensure success across the assigned territories.

The Senior Field Marketing Manager is responsible for developing and executing strategic field marketing initiatives across multiple regions, ensuring alignment with corporate marketing goals and regional sales objectives. This senior role involves leading and managing field marketing teams, driving brand visibility, and fostering consumer engagement through localized marketing strategies, events, and partnerships. The Senior Field Marketing Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, promotions, product development, and warehouse operations, to optimize marketing efforts and ensure success across the assigned territories.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage multiple field marketing teams, ensuring alignment with company objectives, performance targets, and regional marketing strategies.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, training, and development of new team members, providing HR support during the first 90 days of employment.
- Approve and manage team expenditures using the company card, including travel, event costs, and other field marketing expenses, ensuring adherence to budget guidelines.
- Oversee department hiring for the region and manage team performance, providing regular feedback and coaching.
Strategic Field Marketing:
- Develop and implement regional field marketing strategies that align with broader company goals, promoting the brand, products, and partnerships in key markets.
- Work closely with sales leadership to ensure that field marketing efforts support sales objectives, driving revenue growth through localized promotional activities.
- Collaborate with product development, marketing, and sales teams to execute multi-channel marketing campaigns that deliver a cohesive customer experience.
- Organize and lead high-impact field events, such as product launches, in-store activations, trade shows, and consumer-facing initiatives.
- Provide weekly summary reports to the Promotions Manager and Regional Sales Managers detailing the Field Marketing Team's activities, successes, challenges, and KPIs.
- Prepare detailed marketing reports at least three months in advance, supported by data to justify resource allocation and strategic decisions.
- Work with Warehouse Managers to coordinate the distribution of necessary marketing materials to field locations, ensuring materials are delivered on time and aligned with event schedules.
- Ensure the accurate and timely completion of the field team's data accrual sheets, tracking performance and operational metrics.
- Set and monitor weekly goals and key performance indicators (KPIs) for the field marketing teams, providing regular updates on progress and areas for improvement.
- Analyze market trends and competitor activity to adjust strategies and identify growth opportunities within each region.
- Hold weekly calls with Sales Representatives to ensure continued communication and alignment between the marketing and sales teams on objectives, expectations, and execution methods.
- Foster strong relationships with external vendors, partners, and influencers to expand the reach of marketing initiatives and enhance consumer engagement.
- Leadership: Strong leadership skills with demonstrated success in managing and developing large field marketing teams across multiple regions.
- Communication: Exceptional written and oral communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with team members, sales, and senior leadership.
- Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement tactical field marketing plans that align with the company's strategic objectives.
- Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple projects and events simultaneously, ensuring timely execution and high-quality results.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Proficient in using data and market insights to inform decision-making, optimize marketing strategies, and maximize ROI.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Slides), and CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce).
- Budget Management: Expertise in managing marketing budgets, tracking expenses, and maximizing the return on marketing investments.
- Problem Solving: Excellent problem-solving abilities, with the flexibility to adapt to dynamic business environments and shifting market conditions.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product development, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless execution of field marketing initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field is strongly preferred.
- 7+ years of experience in field marketing, with a proven track record of driving brand engagement and consumer acquisition through localized marketing efforts.
- 5+ years of experience managing and leading field teams, with demonstrated success in coaching, mentoring, and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience working in the cannabis industry or other regulated industries is highly preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of marketing technologies and CRM systems, with experience managing multi-channel marketing campaigns and reporting on their effectiveness.
- Proven experience with budget management and event planning, with the ability to balance operational efficiency and marketing impact.
- Ability to travel frequently across regions to oversee field marketing initiatives and events.
- Comfortable working in various environments, including retail spaces, office settings, and large-scale events.
