General Summary:

The Plumber is responsible for installing, repairing,and maintaining pipes, fixtures and other plumbing used for water distributionand waste water disposal in residential, commercial and industrial buildings.

Essential Duties andResponsibilities:
•Plumberswill perform the following functions in their daily routine;
•Installand repair pipes, fittings and fixtures of heating, water, and drainagesystems, according to specifications and plumbing codes.
•Joinspipe by use of screws, bolts, fittings, solder, plastic solvent, and calksjoints.
•Fillspipe system with water or air and reads pressure gauges to determine whethersystem is leaking. Installs and repairs plumbing fixtures, such as sinks,commodes, bathtubs, water heaters, hot water tanks, garbage disposal units,dishwashers, and water softeners.
•Repairsand maintains plumbing by replacing washers in leaky faucets, mending burstpipes, and opening clogged drains. Mayweld holding fixtures to steel structural members.
•Maintainand/or test backflow prevention devices.
•Mayassist other trades in basic carpentry and other basic construction/maintenancetasks.
•Maydirect and coordinate activities of other workers in performing tasks directlyrelated to operating and maintaining the system or systems.
•Performsroutine to general maintenance services including painting, equipment repair,grounds keeping, and snow removal.
•Performsrepairs on a variety of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical,building systems, and other critical systems.
•SincePlumbers, usually work on their own, it is vital they be self-motivated,hardworking, and dependable.
•Maintainingcurrent plumber license or identification card to meet governmentalregulations.
•Maintaina safe and secure working environment.
•Maintain andcreate Activity Hazard Analysis
•Keeprecords of all maintenance and repair work conducted.
•Assistothers as part of the maintenance team as required.
•Performother duties as assigned which may include Safety and Quality Control which mayrequire additional training.

Knowledge, Experience and SkillRequirements:
•Must hold a current journeyman plumber State License or havepassed the Journeyman Plumber exam in accordance with Nebraska Staterequirements (www.nebraska.gov).
•At least three (3) years of experience in healthcare facility
•Work experience will be verified by copies of current licensesfrom other jurisdictions or letters from present or past employers or copies ofW-2 earning tax statements.

Knowledge, Experience andSkill Requirements cont.
•Ability to readand interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and job specifications.
Ability to communicate effectively with various departments in order tocoordinate repairs.
•Must be able topass background
•Musthave Valid Driver License and maintain a good driving record.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop andkneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constantarm extensions.

Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold,noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, but none to the point of being disagreeable.

This job is mission essentialpersonnel and will be needed to work as required.
