Position Overview: The Business Development role will be responsible for prospecting, generating, and qualifying new business opportunities within the life sciences sector. This individual will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to identify and develop relationships with key decision-makers, such as researchers, lab managers, healthcare professionals, and executives within pharmaceutical, biotech, and medical device organizations. Key Responsibilities: Identify and research potential leads and markets within the life sciences industry, utilizing various tools such as LinkedIn, CRM software, industry events, and outbound calls/emails. Engage with potential customers to qualify leads, assess their needs, and understand how our products/services can address their challenges. Build and maintain a robust sales pipeline by scheduling meetings, demos, or consultations for senior sales representatives or account executives. Stay informed about trends, technologies, and competitors within the life sciences space to effectively position our offerings. Work closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure seamless communication, targeted campaigns, and alignment on messaging. Utilize CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce) to track and manage leads, opportunities, and interactions, ensuring all data is up-to-date and accurate. Provide regular reports on lead generation activity, sales pipeline progress, and market insights to senior leadership. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, business, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in life sciences are a plus. Experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within the life sciences, healthcare, biotech, or pharmaceutical industries. Ability to engage with key stakeholders at various levels, delivering clear and concise messaging. Familiarity with life sciences markets, products, and key players. Ability to quickly understand customer needs and tailor outreach accordingly. Understanding of life science products, services, and solutions, with the ability to discuss technical details (or a willingness to learn). Ability to work independently, set and meet targets, and drive results in a fast-paced environment. Collaborative approach to work, with the ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and product teams. Preferred Skills: Knowledge of medical devices, diagnostics, biotechnology, or pharmaceutical products. Experience in outbound sales, cold calling, or market outreach. Understanding of regulatory frameworks, scientific research, or clinical trials.
