Linux Engineer

Position Overview: A leading HFT is looking for a skilled Linux Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain the backbone of the trading infrastructure. As a Linux Engineer, you will work on high-performance server environments, supporting the demands of a global trading operation. Key Responsibilities: Design, configure, and maintain high-performance Linux-based servers to support low-latency trading systems. Optimize system performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and ensure uptime in a mission-critical environment. Implement automation scripts and tools to streamline system administration tasks. Collaborate with developers and network engineers to ensure seamless integration of systems and applications. Monitor system health, respond to incidents, and proactively prevent potential issues. Evaluate and deploy patches, updates, and security configurations to maintain a secure and robust environment. Assist in hardware and software upgrades, focusing on minimizing downtime and optimizing throughput. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Experience managing Linux systems in high-performance environments. Deep knowledge of Linux (RHEL, CentOS, or Ubuntu), including kernel tuning, performance tuning, and low-latency optimization. Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python for automation and troubleshooting. Experience with configuration management tools. Familiarity with networking protocols, tools, and concepts. Strong understanding of storage solutions and file systems commonly used in high-throughput environments. Experience in HFT or finance is advantageous but not required.
