The DevOps Engineer is primarily responsible for developing and applying automations to development practices, operations, and infrastructure. This role owns and provides support for CI/CD pipelines, test automation, cloud infrastructure, and software versioning systems. Requirements Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Designing, implementing, and maintaining infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible. This helps automate the provisioning and configuration of infrastructure. CI/CD Pipeline Management: Developing, implementing, and maintaining Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines using tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or Azure DevOps, ensuring frequent and reliable software releases. Automation: Automating routine tasks and workflows, such as software builds, tests, deployments, and infrastructure provisioning to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention. Monitoring and Logging: Setting up and managing monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog to ensure visibility into system performance and application health. Security Integration: Ensuring that security best practices are integrated into the development lifecycle, including managing secrets, setting up security monitoring, and ensuring compliance with security standards like SOC 2, HIPAA, or GDPR. Cloud Management: Managing cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) by setting up, scaling, and optimizing the usage of cloud resources for applications. Collaboration and Communication: Working closely with development, operations, and quality assurance teams to ensure smooth communication, resolving bottlenecks in development and deployment processes. Configuration Management: Using configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, or SaltStack to maintain consistent configuration across multiple servers and environments. Incident Response and Troubleshooting: Monitoring system performance, responding to incidents, and troubleshooting issues related to infrastructure, application performance, and deployment processes. Performance Optimization: Continuously evaluating and optimizing system performance and ensuring scalability, availability, and reliability of services by identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science or another related technical field 3+ years of experience in a DevOps role Strong proficiency in AWS and experience with cloud services such as EC2, S3, EMR, Kubernetes, Lambda and serverless functions. Strong scripting skills (e.g., Python, Bash, Ruby) to automate tasks and processes, along with a foundational understanding of programming for pipeline and tooling customization. Hands-on experience with Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Azure DevOps) for automating build and deployment workflows. In-depth understanding of containerization tools (Docker) and orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, OpenShift) for efficient deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications. Infrastructure as Code (IaC) Knowledge: Familiarity with IaC tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Ansible, with the ability to provision, manage, and monitor infrastructure programmatically. Strong Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to quickly diagnose and resolve infrastructure, application, and deployment issues under tight time constraints. Proficiency in using monitoring and logging tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Datadog) for performance tracking, alerting, and incident response. Awareness of security principles and experience implementing security measures in the development and deployment process, including handling secrets, managing access control, and integrating security tools in CI/CD. Ability to work as part of a development team using a shared source repository. Preferred Qualifications Excellent project management skills: self-directed and capable of working effectively in a highly kinetic environment. Excellent communication skills: able to facilitate your own meetings as necessary, comfortable working with customers as well as all levels of the organization AWS DevOps Certifications are preferred.
