Job Description
Immense Networks, a regional leader in IT Managed Services, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Azure Engineer. This position is responsible for managing, maintaining, and optimizing cloud environments using Microsoft's Azure platform, particularly in a managed service environment. They typically work with clients to ensure that their cloud infrastructure, applications, and services are running efficiently, securely, and cost-effectively. This role requires both technical expertise in Azure and an ability to provide high-quality support and advisory services to clients. Responsibilities include: Azure Cloud Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and manage Azure-based infrastructure solutions (VMs, networking, storage, etc.). Provision and configure cloud resources (such as virtual machines, storage, networks, etc.). Monitor and manage the health, performance, and capacity of Azure environments. Client Support and Troubleshooting: Provide day-to-day support for Azure infrastructure and resolve issues related to the cloud environment. Troubleshoot and debug infrastructure and application issues. Respond to incidents, service requests, and changes as part of MSP offerings. Automation and Optimization: Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM), Terraform, or Bicep. Develop and maintain automation scripts (using PowerShell, Python, or other scripting languages) for deployment and operational tasks. Continuously optimize performance, cost, and scalability of Azure resources. Security and Compliance: Implement Azure security best practices (role-based access control, encryption, network security groups, etc.). Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Manage Azure identity services, including Azure Active Directory (AAD), multi-factor authentication (MFA), and conditional access policies. Backup and Disaster Recovery: Design and manage backup, disaster recovery, and high-availability strategies in Azure. Perform regular testing of recovery plans to ensure business continuity. Collaboration and Client Consulting: Work closely with clients to understand their business needs and translate them into Azure architecture and solutions. Serve as an advisor for clients on best practices for Azure implementation, cost management, and new Azure features. Participate in periodic service reviews and provide recommendations for improvement. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud environments, configurations, and procedures. Generate reports on performance, availability, and compliance of client environments. Experience Required: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, cloud engineering, or a related field. Minimum of three years’ hands-on experience in Azure migrations, support, and optimization. Certifications (optional but highly desirable): Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate. Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert. Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate. MSP work experience is a plus, but not required. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services (Compute, Storage, Networking, Security, etc.). Experience with tools like Azure Monitor, Azure Security Center, and Azure Automation. Problem-solving and analytical thinking. Team collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients and internal teams. Outstanding problem-solving skills, with a customer-focused approach to resolving issues. Goal-oriented with the capability to self-manage without constant oversight.
