In the role of Mechanical Coordinator/EIT, we'll count on you to:

Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications

Develop mechanical design calculations that follow industry standards

Develop and backcheck plan sheets and detail drawings

Assist in the development of technical specifications

Assist in the development of construction cost estimates

Technical writing for reports / technical memorandums

Prepare presentations (design, alternatives analysis, etc.)

Coordinating cross-discipline (e.g., with electrical, structural, and civil) on a multidisciplinary project team

Perform mechanical/general field inspections/site visits

Construction submittal reviews (e.g., shop drawings, O&M manuals)

Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of cost estimates for each design option

Perform routine engineering assignments requiring the application of standard techniques and procedures

Perform CAD support duties

Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables

Given senior direction and check-ins - work independently on small to mid-sized projects as supporting staff

Be committed to HDR's quality culture and following Quality Management Systems in place

Be committed to HDR's safety culture (Drive To Zero) and follow safety

Ability to learn from and assist senior engineers on projects

Give direction to clerical and technical personnel as needed

Be respectful of others

Perform other duties as needed

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in structural, civil, or mechanical engineering fields with a desire to work on mechanical systems for water resource projects - Focus on dam infrastructure

EIT (Passed the FE Exam). Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Coordinator" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career

Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)

Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD

Proficiency in 3D modeling (Autodesk Inventor is a plus)

Willing to take the initiative, which includes asking clarifying questions

Must be able to respectfully and effectively communicate with a wide range of people - both internal and external to HDR

Willingness to learn from others, both in person and virtually

Must be ok with domestic travel. Up to 10% of the time

An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

Master's degree in engineering

Design experience / Machining experience

Ability to read and interpret technical drawing sets

Familiarity with industry design codes/guidelines (e.g., USACE EM's, USBR Design Standards, CMAA, etc)

Required Qualifications Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Trane TRACE or similar software, and equipment selection software) An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions.
