Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, UX Design, Communications, or a related field 5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years working as a designer Portfolio of design work that demonstrates understanding of user-centered design methodologies (Discovery, Design, Development) Experience in user research, user interface design, information architecture, usability testing, human factors, and other related disciplines Knowledge of design fundamentals including information design, interaction design, visual design, and user-centered design best practices Proficiency with industry standard design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (XD, Photoshop, Illustrator), Sketch, Figma, Mural, and InVision Basic understanding of Accessibility (Section 508 Compliance), Plain language, and other standard best practices Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Self-motivated, independent, detail oriented, responsible team-player Strong written and oral communication skills coupled with good listening skills U.S. Citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance Education and Experience Equivalency - 5 years with BS/BA; 3 years with MS/MA Responsibilities
You’ll work in an Agile software environment to develop compelling, creative, and user-focused designs for a variety of software applications Lead the design of cohesive and standardized user experiences across software applications Collaborate with business analysts, software engineers, stakeholders, and end users to determine requirements and design ideas Analyze user interfaces and workflows to identify opportunities for improvement Quickly iterate on multiple interactive design solutions and work through details Create and execute style guides, interaction patterns, and information design standards Develop wireframes, mockups, and rapid prototypes supporting design ideas and effectively communicate ideas to various user groups and stakeholders Present design work to multiple teams and senior leadership for review and feedback Assess and optimize the performance of new and existing features by actively participating in user research and assessing performance metrics Contribute to the group’s shared knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies Location
