MRI Technologist

City/State Virginia Beach, VA Overview Work Shift Third (Nights) (United States of America) Job Summary Performs MRI examinations while maintaining safety integrity of MRI operational area for all persons including staff and customers. Maintains adequate supply inventory for performing examinations. Explains examination and procedure to patient, and completes departmental documentation. Minimum Requirements: 1 year experience in a Rad Tech position to include Radiologic Tech, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, or Ultrasound preferred. Completion of MRI school/MRI certificate program OR Graduate of 24 month program in radiologic technology required in lieu of experience. Six months MR experience or completion of MR didactic program preferred. Must obtain ARRT MR advanced registry or ARMRIT within 2 years of hire (to include mergers and acquisitions). CNMT or ARDMS or ARRT or ARMRIT is required. Qualifications: TS - Trade School Graduate ARRT Registered Radiologic Technologist (RT) - Certifications - Other/National Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification - American Heart Association (AHA) RQI Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) - Certifications - Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Certifications - Inteleos Inc American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) Basic experience of simple office / operational systems, Management, Radiologic Technologist Skills: Communication Sentara Healthcare prides itself on the diversity and inclusiveness of its close to an almost 30,000-member workforce.
