We are looking for a
Senior Chemist
to join our Food Safety Quality & Regulatory Affairs team in Omaha, Nebraska. As a
Senior Chemist,
reporting to the Director of Scientific Affairs, you will oversee the analysis of food products and packaging materials to assess quality and chemical composition. You will ensure compliance with manufacturing, nutritional labeling, regulatory, and food safety standards using standardized and research-based test methods. You will develop and validate new test methods using gas chromatography (GC) and mass spectrometry (GC-MS), ensuring all methods comply with the laboratory quality management system. Position Responsibilities: Conduct technical analyses to support product development and quality initiatives. Research and evaluate new analytical methods. Troubleshoot and maintain GC and GC-MS systems. Review and approve lab data, ensuring quality control. Prepare technical reports and manage lab operations. Champion a positive food safety culture, take ownership, and empower others to take immediate action on matters concerning food safety. Position Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in Chemistry or related field required. 5+ years experience in analytical chemistry, food chemistry or a related field/function. Experience with gas chromatography (GC) required. Experience with mass spectrometry (GC-MS) required. Technical/scientific report writing skills. Knowledge of food product development, manufacturing processes, and food safety. Experience in statistical and analytical tools and fundamentals. We require applicants for this role to be legally authorized to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship either now or in the future. Travel may be up to 30%. Physical Requirements: Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Use of various lab equipment and tools. You will typically work from our Omaha office 5 days a week with some flexibility. Compensation: Pay Range: $79,000-$115,000. The annual salary listed above is the expected offering for this position. An employee’s actual annual salary will be based on but not limited to: location, relevant experience/level and skillset, while balancing internal Conagra employees’ equity.
