Travel RN – PCU – Cardiac Telemetry
Shift:
Nights / 6:45p-7:15a, 12×3, 36 hours per week
Length:
13 weeks
Requirements:
NC license
Minimum 2 years of experience on the cardiac floor
BLS
ACLS
NIHSS
Traveler Experience: Required unless has more than 2+ years of cardiac experience.
Other Details:
May screen if 1.5 years of CVICU experience in a large facility
Float: Will follow unit rotation – not first to float
Ratios: Varies per Acuity. Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity
Skills: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown, Sheath Removal, Interpretation of dysrhythmias, Management of dysrhythmias, Post MI, Pre/Post Cardiac Cath, Manage Cardiac drips- no titration, Titrate Cardiac drips, Chest tubes- Emerson/Pleuravac, External CPAP/BIPAP, Nasal Cannula, Non-invasive airway management
REQUIRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:

Certs: BLS & ACLS, NIHSS
PREFERRED SKILLS / CERTS / EXP:
Arterial line management, Wound Care/Wound Vac, and Charge Experience.
JOB DETAILS:
Ratios: Varies per Acuity. Ratios are 1:4 for surgical step down, and 1:5-6 for lower acuity.
Shift: NIGHTS 36 HOURS ONLY.
Float Requirement: Will follow unit rotation – not first to float.
Contract staff will be assigned and expected to work a Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team. Contract staff may be required to report to work during a catastrophic event, mass casualty or disaster. Consolidation to the Centralized Office mid contract may occur and the contract staff may be preassigned to units as needed.
SPECIAL PROCEDURES / UNIT DETAILS:
CABG, AVR, MVR, TAVR, Mitral Clip, LAAO (Watchman procedure), VATS, Carotid endarterectomy, FEM-POP bypass, Amputations, Other vascular surgeries, Cardiac surgeries, Thoracic surgeries, General thoracic surgery, Post cath, Post DCCV, Post electrophysiology procedures, Pacemaker placements.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT:
Arterial lines (not required), Doppler, Bladder scanner, EKG, Femoral sheaths, TR band, Fem-stop, Chest tubes, Epicardial Pacing Wires.
UNIT SYSTEMS (Medication, Documentation, Communication):
Pyxis, EPIC, SBAR.
SCHEDULING TYPE:
Self.
UNIT ORIENTATION:
24 hours.
