Venturi Astrolab, Inc. (Astrolab) is pioneering new ways to explore and operate on distant planetary bodies. We are singularly focused on designing, building, and operating a fleet of multi-purpose commercial planetary rovers to extend and enhance humanity’s presence in the solar system. We are seeking motivated, creative, and exceptional people to join our world-class team. As a Sr. RF Avionics Engineer, you will be responsible for full component and system ownership throughout the entire design lifecycle. You will play a pivotal role in architecting rover RF avionics systems and designing state-of-the-art communication systems for the lunar surface. You will be joining a company at the ground-level and have immense influence over the future of lunar exploration.

What You'll Do:

Design RF and communication hardware focused on extra-planetary surface applications Develop RF hardware designs and interface specifications Interface with other engineers to ensure seamless subsystem integration of RF, mechanical, electrical, and software systems Develop test plans/procedures to support the execution of test events Lead Root Cause/Corrective Action (RCCA) investigations and resolutions Work with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of products Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment

What's Prepared You:

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field (science, technology, engineering or mathematics) 5+ years of experience in spacecraft RF hardware design and/or RF component design (academic and personal projects apply) Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate of Science degree in RF/Electrical/Aerospace Engineering or related science or technology field Experience with environmental testing for space electronics such as thermal, vibration, TVAC, radiation, and EMI/EMC testing per standards such as SMC-S-016 Experience in one or more of RF circuits, antennas, amplifiers, software-defined radios, RF filters Experience with RF test equipment such as vector network analyzers (VNA), spectrum analyzers, power meters, etc. Familiarity with RF modeling and analysis software tools such as Ansys Electronics Desktop HFSS, Altair FEKO, Keysight ADS, Cadence AWR Microwave Office Familiarity with digital communications systems & theory, including spread spectrum, forward error correction, and modulation types such as BPSK, QPSK, GMSK, etc. Good communication, analytical, and organizational skills
