HOSPITAL SECURITY OFFICER . WORK LOCATION:
This position will float to all Primary Care Clinic locations (Federal Way, Kent/Des Moines, and Ballard). WORK SCHEDULE: PART-TIME; 50% FTE; 20 hours per week; Variable Shifts POSITION HIGHLIGHTS: Work to maintain security and safety through inspection of buildings and grounds. Ensure a safe, secure environment for patients, staff, and visitors in a way that promotes the healing and teaching mission of UW Medicine - Primary Care. The candidate will possess superior customer service skills, offering support and understanding in dealing with patients, staff, faculty and visitors to the medical center. Be a part of a team dedicated to supporting UW Medicine where Patients Are First. DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION: UW Medicine Primary Care Clinic Hospital Security Officers, under general direction, provide security work to protect life and property; enforce administrative policies, laws, and ordinances; maintain order, and prevent and investigate crime. Hospital Security Officers provide assistance and effective problem resolution for patients, staff, and visitors at the Ballard Clinic, in both patient and non-patient areas. A dynamic team committed to making continuous improvements, and to protecting and caring for our people and property. PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide a safe and secure environment for patients, visitors, and staff. Conduct preventive security and safety patrols throughout buildings and campus grounds. Respond to and investigate security incidents. Create clear and timely documentation of incident reports, investigatory interviews, and actions. Assume control of emergency situations in cooperation with medical professionals, fire/police agencies, and/or senior administration. Serve as a member of the Fire Control Team and respond to alarms and other emergent situations. Provide escorts to patients, visitors, or staff. REQUIRED POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: High School graduation or equivalent; possession of a valid driver's license; no previous felony convictions; AND two years of full-time college in police science or allied field; OR two years of police or campus security experience.
