Description
LAC Federal is seeking two Records Managers to support a records consulting project for a federal agency in Washington, D.C. The Records Managers will report to a Project Supervisor and oversee the work of Records Information Specialists to conduct a records inventory and review for a division within the agency with a view toward revising the inventory and file plan and updating the division records schedule to ensure that it conforms with agency and NARA policies. This will be a full time (40 hours a week; Monday to Friday). Work will be performed on site in downtown Washington, D.C.
Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of a Project Manager, the Records Manager will conduct a thorough review of division records meeting with representatives and officers from each division office. Update the records inventory form. Review organization charts and other background documentation. Supervise the work of records information specialists. Review, analyze and update the division file plan. Review, analyze and update the records schedule. Requirements: Master’s degree in either archival or records management field with a minimum of 2 years of experience strongly preferred. NARA Certification in Federal Records Management strongly preferred. Good knowledge of records management policies and practices, including records classification and retention schedules. Knowledge and experience with document and records management systems. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to respect confidentiality. Ability to perform routine work independently. Ability to communicate effectively and work in a multicultural environment. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be a US citizen and able to pass a background check. Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods of time and to maintain focus on projects such as computer screens or detailed paperwork.
