Electrical Engineer III (E3)

We are looking for an Electronics Engineer to support the development of a new family of tools at Applied Materials. Main activities include schematic design & review, manufacturing (PCBA) support; prototype board bring-up, PCB/system level test, inventory management, etc.
He/she will be working alongside engineers from other teams on an exciting new technology that will significantly impact our industry and will provide solid personal career growth opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Design or modify electrical/electronic engineering assemblies, layouts/schematics and/or detailed drawings/specifications for control systems. Technically execute engineering projects with limited supervision and communicate with other engineers to coordinate efforts on projects. Create documentation on the design of system and integration and generate product specifications. Bring-up hardware prototypes, compose test plan, prepare test stand and generate test report. Problem identification and troubleshooting a wide range of complex electronic problems with limited to no supervision. Failure analysis on complex product issues and suggest the repairs/modifications to the boards on a system level. Actively provide technical support to SW, FW, QA, field team and customers. Qualifications
The candidate selected for this position will possess and demonstrate the following skills, education and experience: BS in Electronic Engineering or Computer Engineering. Must have 4+ years of experience designing complex PCBs with analog and digital circuit. Capability of analog circuit analysis and solid knowledge on Op-amp, ADC, DAC and BJT. In-depth knowledge of schematic design tools (ie Orcad) and simulation tools (ie Spice). Engineering experience with small/medium volume manufacturing, PCBA, bring-up, testing, functional verification and system-level qualification. Experience troubleshooting with lab Equipment (Oscilloscopes, Power Supplies, DMMs, etc). Experience with FPGA, embedded systems or CCD camera is a big plus. Experience in testing and debugging of optical systems/optoelectronic assemblies and prior experience working with a range of detectors and light sources such as PDs, LEDs, laser diodes and related assemblies a big plus. Strong time management skills with an emphasis on managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong communications and organizational skills.
