I.
Accountability Objectives: The key to increasing student achievement and providing an excellent education for all of our students is an outstanding instructor in each classroom. The Academic Dean is charged with leading, coaching and developing a team of high performing instructional leaders. Reporting directly to the principal, they will lead a talented and dedicated team of teachers toward creating a student-centered, rigorous, and results-oriented culture. This is a fantastic opportunity for an ambitious school leader looking to grow their instructional leadership and affect student achievement at the whole-school level. II.

Principal, Assistant Principal, classroom and resource teachers, parents and families IV.
Position Qualifications: Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Licensed teacher with at least 3+ Years of experience At least 1 year of experience coaching and leading adults to obtain high student achievement Objectives and Responsibilities Coaching and Developing Staff to achieve excellent student outcomes Observe lessons regularly and deliver targeted feedback to teachers Develop highly effective student interventions, instructional curriculum, and schedule in collaboration with school leadership, and District Teaching and Learning Team Collaborate with grade/subject teams to plan units, lessons, and assessments and regularly share feedback Assist teachers to devise and monitor high-impact support plans for students Model outstanding instruction for teachers Facilitating Excellent Professional Development Coordinate and manage creative, inspiring professional development sessions in line with school goals and priorities Direct the interim assessment process to ensure teachers are using current data to drive instruction Facilitate regular and meaningful interim assessment data debriefs with teachers lead staff training at the start and end of the school year and on professional development days Serve as an active member of the School leadership team Analyze school wide data in order to design responsive student interventions Track other useful academic data (i.e. homework completion rates) and communicate profess to students, teachers and parents. Participate in regular leadership team meetings Work closely with the Dean(s) of culture to support the efforts in character development and positive school culture. Assist teacher leaders (e.g. grade team leaders, committee leaders) in developing leadership skills Desired Skills and Characteristics A demonstrated passion for and commitment to the mission of Milwaukee Academy of Science. Strong instructional and classroom management skills Focus on a systems-oriented approach to student, classroom, and school culture Strong organization, planning, and time management skills Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and strong interpersonal skills with students, families, colleagues, and community members Proven ability to proactively lead by example, effectively manage adults, and respond positively to feedback Personal qualities: passionate, relentless work ethic, humility, positive in the face of incredible challenges, joyful, loving, and “roll-up-my-sleeves” attitude
