We're looking for a Component Development Engineer, Optical & AR Display Modules to join the Snap Lab team! What you’ll do: Manage complex component development from concept to production Work with internal teams at Snap (Optical, Mechanical, Electrical, Product, Software, etc) to develop and integrate best-in-class Optical & AR Display Modules for future generations of Spectacles Supervise fabs & contract manufacturers to improve efficiency, yields, failure analysis, and overall operational excellence Define build plans and schedules for subcomponent suppliers and module integrators and drive on-time delivery of components Investigate and develop component and manufacturing processes Lead failure analysis efforts and integrate learnings into future design iterations Roadmap ownership for specific components Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: Deep experience with display systems and/or optical modules, manufacturing and test processes Hands-on experience bringing up, solving problems at factories (FATP, Supplier, etc) Experience working and collaborating closely with external partners and suppliers Ability to identify and mitigate risk during new development and manufacturing Strong program management skills including excellent communication, coordination, and documentation Ability to thrive with rapidly changing or ambiguous requirements Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, process development, design, and/or program management of consumer electronic displays or optical modules Preferred Qualifications: PhD or master’s degree in optics, physics, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related field Experience with Optical Coatings, ACF processing, Liquid Crystal technology The estimated application deadline for this requisition is 30 days, but Snap reviews applications on a rolling basis and may modify this period. In the United States, work locations are assigned a pay zone that determines the salary range for the position. The starting pay may be negotiable within the salary range. Zone A (CA, WA, NYC):
The base salary range for this position is $184,000-$276,000 annually. Zone B:
The base salary range for this position is $175,000-$262,000 annually. Zone C:
The base salary range for this position is $156,000-$235,000 annually. This position is eligible for equity in the form of RSUs.
