Senior OSW Regional Planner
Location: Boston, MA
The Senior OSW Regional Planner provides coordination, monitoring and tracking on programs and projects within Avangrid Renewables’ Offshore Wind Operations and Maintenance (O&M) department. Reporting to the Manager – Business Analysis, this position will support Offshore O&M by facilitating efforts related to risk assurance, continuous improvement, onboarding and training, and other Company initiatives across various departments, ensuring organizational objectives are being met.
The successful candidate will:
Assist the O&M Manager - Business Analysis and the director of Asset Management to identify and manage risks on assets under operations.
Implement recommendations and advice on OPEX risk management.
Assist in managing electricity power agreement risk assessments.
Provide comments on the risks of business results & best estimates on potential impacts.
Assist Site and Back Office Teams during procurement processes ensuring that best practices and procedures are applied.
Prepare and carry the Training & Onboarding for the Operations and Maintenance team (up to 60 individuals).
Support resources planning.
Track and monitor company initiatives (continuous improvements, innovations, employee engagement and enablement).
Assist on the monthly operational projects reporting.
Assist in educating individuals and departments, on the operational, financial, and environmental requirements of non-standard Structured deals.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Energy, Data Analytics, or Information Management.
A minimum of five years industry experience, or a combined Master’s degree and at least five years energy industry experience.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent organizational skills to ensure all deliverables are fulfilled on time and of good quality.
Ability to effectively manage competing priorities is a must.
Familiarity with project management approaches, tools, and phases of the project lifecycle.
Problem solving and root-cause identification skills.
Results oriented with excellent analytical, strategic, business planning, and teamwork/collaboration skills.
Ability to prioritize and work to monthly deadlines.
Proven track record in working in multi-skilled teams.
Flexibility and ability to adapt to a rapidly changing environment.
The ability to manage complexity and ambiguity in a highly matrixed environment.
Adaptability to a multicultural environment.
Commitment – possess passion and determination required to meet / exceed objectives.
Good self-performance management and delivery focus with the ability to balance conflicting requirements on quality, costs, and time.
Some experience with people managing.
A basic understanding of financial, commercial, and business principles and risk mitigation practices.
Good influencing, interpersonal and change management skills.
Ability to be proactive and take responsibility for matters, while responding to competing business demands.
An understanding of accounting processes and principles (industry and company) desirable, although actual accounting undertaken by a separate team.
SAP experience an advantage.
Flexibility to travel regularly to attend meetings and work at different project sites throughout Europe (particularly Germany, France, Spain, England) and the USA.
Eligibility to work in the USA.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with leading the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
Analytical risk assessment experience.
Resource planning experience.
Familiarity with cost control and accounting related to large engineering projects.
Experience in Offshore/Onshore wind, solar, and/or battery storage.
Master’s degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Renewable Energy, or MBA preferred.
