Our AAHA practice located in historic and affluent Fairfield County, Connecticut is seeking a full-time energetic veterinarian to join our progressive and growing practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in medicine, be client-oriented with strong client education skills, and be a dedicated, enthusiastic team player.

Privately owned, AAHA-accredited small animal practice including exotics (not birds), serving the veterinary needs of pet owners in our community. Our team has a strong partnership with clients built on clear, consistent communication and education. We have a loyal following among our extended pet families as shown in our client's generous reviews & testimonials. We are a well-established, family-owned practice with a diverse caseload, practicing quality medicine in a modern, warm, and friendly facility.

We are located in Connecticut’s beautiful Gold Coast and have deep roots in the Norwalk Community. Norwalk is a shoreline town with a growing and diverse business community, several parks, beaches, hiking, and biking trails to enjoy and explore. We are approximately 40 miles northeast of New York City with plenty of entertainment possibilities nearby.

As an associate veterinarian with Norwalk Animal Hospital, you will appreciate our therapy laser, in-house pharmacy, Abaxis in-house laboratory, digital radiology (including dental), ultrasound, surgical laser, surgical monitoring equipment including BP, pulse Ox, capnography, and ECG, as well as a highly trained technical and friendly support staff. We proudly utilize ImproMed Infinity as our practice management software.

We collaborate with specialists in multiple fields through referrals. Our close proximity to several large 24-hour referral and emergency centers allows us to offer our staff the family-friendly benefits of no after-hours emergencies and no on-call scheduling. Cornell University Veterinary Specialists (CUVS) is less than 20 minutes away, while the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine at Tufts University is also only 2 hours away.

We focus on a very high standard of medicine while working with clients to develop a manageable patient care plan. Our hospital stresses preventive care, dentistry, exceptional medical workups & treatments, surgery, rehabilitation, behavior, and nutrition counseling. Our full-service on-site canine rehabilitation service includes a therapeutic laser and an underwater treadmill. Our hospital also offers boarding and has a fear-free certified staff.

Our staff-to-doctor ratio is approximately 5:1. Our normal work schedules are flexible and feature no emergency on-call duty. Our technical staff includes Credentialed Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Technicians. Our hospital has a history of very low staff turnover due to the importance we place on work-life balance and maintaining an atmosphere of kindness and respect. We offer a fun, collaborative, patient-oriented, and supportive environment. Our staff is encouraged to grow professionally and there are abundant opportunities for CE and mentorship.

We are looking for just the right individual to join our dynamic and compassionate team with exceptional medicine and communication skills. The right candidate will have a strong interest in medicine, be client-oriented, have strong client education skills, and be a team player. The position requires a minimum of 40 hours per week to keep up with our growing clientele.

You need to be a person of good character, customer service-oriented, hard-working, detail-oriented, thorough, timely, a good communicator, friendly, teachable, and obviously a pet lover!
