Description As a member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to work cross-functionally to expand the functionality of the Health app and HealthKit framework. Our primary responsibilities are delivering new health and fitness features, designing solutions for distributed health data storage, performance, OS integration, and API design and delivery. This position requires a curious and self-motivated engineer with strong technical and communication skills to handle responsibilities including: Developing innovative solutions for efficiently syncing health data across multiple Apple platforms Designing and tuning features for use by millions of users on power and performance constrained devices Designing and delivering comprehensive test suites in collaboration with our quality assurance and engineering teams Designing logical, scalable, forward-thinking APIs that serve our developers’ needs Participating in peer review of architecture, API, and individual software changes Collaborating with and advising other teams across Apple, including Design, Privacy, and Security, as well as domain experts in health and fitness. Minimum Qualifications BS Computer Science or equivalent experience Strong foundation in Computer Science fundamentals Experience in object-oriented architecture and design Understanding of systems-level concepts like multi-threading, interprocess communication, and performance tuning Experience delivering libraries, frameworks, or APIs Knowledge of iOS programming and one or more Apple technologies such as Grand Central Dispatch, CloudKit, or XPC Activity/Services Experience with distributed systems design and development Key Qualifications Preferred Qualifications Strong communication and collaboration skills Ability to work well with all levels of engineers and other teams Familiarity with Wellness or Medical concepts Pay & Benefits At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $143,100 and $264,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs.
